Question:
Who do I contact @ BCBS?

My Dr office fedex my info to BCBS and I tried to call the customer service number and its like a run around with automated messaging. Im just wondering if anyone had a number that I could call to find out where they stand on approval or denial.    — srtchick (posted on June 9, 2004)

You should contact either the Customer Service phone number and/or the Pre-Authorization area. Both phone numbers should be on the back of your ID card.

Do you have any EOB (where it shows what they have paid) call the number listed on it or on the back of your card, and dont do the automated thing,or press any numbers, it will repete twice and then connect you to a rep.

You will need to contact the number for medical management. If it's not available on your card, someone in human resources should have it. When I called to check on mine, the CSR said it wasn't there, and a few hours later I had the work that I had been approved. Don't give up!

Call customer service and ask where pre-authorizations are done. In WI it's in the Fond du Lac office. They also should be able to give you the number of where the info can be faxed to. Just get a name of someone you can check back with to be sure they got it and then to follow up the approval process.
