Question:
POST OP TUMMY TUCK AND CLIMING ONE FLIGHT OF STAIRS????

I am scheduled to have a tummy tuck with muscle tightening in August and am concerned because I will have a flight of stairs to climb when I come home from the hospital. My apartment is on the second floor so I have no choice. I was wondering if I take it slow, is it doable or not? I'm sure other people have had this same problem and am needing some input. Thanks!    — THE NEW M. (posted on June 21, 2004)

Hi I am 5 weeks post-op from tummy tuck and rear end lift I was cut all the way around was concerned about the stairs also and had planned on sleeping down stairs, but they where no problem I went up and down a couple times a day just take them slow. What hurts the most is lowering your self down to sit in chair or get in bed but the worst is sitting on the toliet it's along way down to reach it. You'll do fine and the pain isn't as bad as you would think it would be after the 3rd day I only took pain med at bed time.

i live in a two story house and had no problems using the stairs even from the first day. just make sure someone is standing with you because you might be dizy from pain meds.

I HAD MY TUMMY TUCK 4 WEEKS AGO AND ALSO LIVE IN A 2 STORY HOUSE. IT WAS NO PROBLEM AT ALL FOR ME. HONESTLY THE WORST THING ABOUT THE WHOLE TUMMY TUCK WAS THE DRAINS.
