Question:
cost of a breast lift??

I looked at the library for the cost of a breast lift but all I saw was older prices meaning 2003 and older....can anyone give me an idea of how much a breast lift cost you this year 2004? Also were you "down" a long time with the operation? last question if you had a lift with no implants how many sizes did you go down? example I was a DD before wls how I feel if the extra skin was gone I would be a C is this a good guide or am I thinking to small. thanks    — marcelle1070 (posted on October 15, 2004)

I just had a breast reduction August 4th. My insurance paid 100% because of my shoulder, back and neck pain, and the deep indentation on my shoulders. The size that you go to depends on how much breast tissure you have left. I went from a 34 ddd to a perfect 34C. The surgeon charged my insurance company $5,000 and received $1,400, the aneselogist charge my insurance 1,500 and received $857. The hospital total charges were around $2,000 and the insurance paid half. I suggest you go to the Plastic Surgery Message Board on Obesityhelp.com and ask this same question, you may get a better idea of the cost.

I had mine done this year. I assume since your 'asking' you are considering self pay. The 'price' of THAT I do not know; but I certainly would 'CALL' around... In fact, even ifyour just paying your co pay call around. I did. In fact, the difference between hospitals was from 3000 to 700 and since I was paying 30% I chose the 700 hospital. With aenta discounts; the total surgery payout was just under $2000. Example.. hospital got $700 (but they charged over 4,000) the doctor charged also close to 4000 and got 850.

Don't just assume that it won't be covered. Breast lifts are just as medically necessary as reductions. You can have the same problems, such as back, shoulder, neck pain. headaches, rash under the breasts etc. I would see a good PS that will write a good medical necessity letter. Remember photos speaks volumes also. I had a lift and paid for the implants to KEEP them perky. I was a DD and now am a D or generous C and VERY happy. Best of luck!

My doctor's fee for a breast lift is $3400 and it will be about another $1800 for the anesthesia and surgery room. I was a 40DD before my bypass and now I'm a 34D (very saggy D) and he told me I would go to a large B. I'm still debating on getting implants because I REALLY don't want to be that small.
