Operation on someone who is 17 years old?

My surgeon Dr Philip Schauer has done as young as 13 in selected cases. Unfortunately he has moved to head up the Cleveland clinics obesity center. He is absolutely the best!@

At a plastic surgeon once I met a girl who was around 16 or 17 who was around three months out from surgery. (Her mother had surgery and was at the ps for consultation.) We struck up a conversation and I found out we had the same doctor. Dr. William Roll in Fairfax, VA. I'll try to email the info to you also.

Make sure you look into the lap band for someone that young. It's reversable and doesn't have the malabsoption risks of the RNY (I love my RNY, but wouldn't let my 17 year old have it).

In Vienna, VA try Dr. Elariny. He is a great surgeon. I am not sure what his age limits might be. I believe he makes decisions on a case by case basis. He is a laproscopic surgeon and does everything from lap band to lap DS.
