hCall the EGD doc NOW, and run it by them, then repeat the info right before they do the EGD. For WLS they give you a gneral anthestic, what your going to have is twilight sleep, you wouldnt be aware, but shouldnt be out. But its always best to notify everyone involved

The EGD was a very short, simple procedure. It was sleepy time for around 20 minutes, and then up and out. Very quick. I took my CPAP, but it wasnt necessary.

Hello I just had mine last friday and I did not think it was that serious but it is. So you need to relax and do what they tell you. THey have spray for your mouth and they give you a IV to put you in a twilight but I was talking to them and then i did not even realize i feel asleep they awake me up to tell me to get on my back because i had to do mine on my side. I feel right back a sleep and they just keep lefting my sleep until it wor off. Then they give you something to eat to see I you can feel it. The only thing is you will still for a little tried from it if you are very active like. I took the the test went and got something to eat because they said i had to eat before i went back to sleep than I want to sleep for like 4 hours and got up went to church becuase I had to sing. I felt tried and I dont knoe what. Every time I sat down i fell asleep if I was not doing nothing but I got some good sleep thoiugh that night I did not want to get up at all. But nothing to worry about if safe.

I agree with Karen. The gi team will put you on oxygen and moniter you the whole time. You basically wake up and say "are we done". you are not really alseep but sedated and given a drug that makes you forget and is very fast acting. It also leaves you quickly. So please just relax. I hope all is well with the scope. I have sleep apnea and have had a scope and some other surgeries before the WLS. I would do it 10 more times if I had to. Hope this helps. Reg
