Question:
I have pain between the saline port and wound, I cannot have my bra on !

I am 3 wks lap bank post-op, at first I have no pain at all. It only happenend after 2 wks, the pain is between the saline port and the wound. My doctor said it's not serious, as all my wounds look great. But I doubt why I cannot have my bra on ! It's hurt the area down under the breast. I am worrying that I will not be able to put on the bra forever ! Please who had this experience, please advise me, thank you.    — geasjun-thai (posted on June 6, 2007)

I had some irritation and couldn't wear a bra for almost a month. I then wore a soft sports bra for a few weeks. My dr. sd that it is just the area and muscle healing after having surgery. Your body has something foreign in it now and has to get use to it. Good luck on the weight loss.

so understand what you are saying. Little by little I was able to wear my bra longer. I still have tenderness at the end of the day but its totally tolerable. I switched to a sport bra and that totally helped. I think it was because of swelling, tenderness from surgery and my body adjusting it self to the lap band and port. I didn't feel remotely normal until six weeks out but now doing really great and even had a fill on Monday. Always stay in touch with your drs office though and keep them posted on how you are doing.
