Question:
2wks post-op & in PAIN

I am 2 wks post-op tomorrow and have the WORST pain in my left side (a little behind the large laproscopic incision). It gets a little better when I lay down or stand but sitting and getting up is painful. I did pick my 16month old up 3 times since surgery (he's devastated mommy cant hold him-huge momma's boy =( wanting me 24-7 and always GREAT sleeper not so much lately)...but would that cause it or something else? Im a little worried, but dont see the doc for my check-up till thurs.?    — snourty (posted on November 17, 2009)

Greetings! Congratuations on your decision to have this life-saving surgery! Bluntly, I wouldn't wait until Thursday. I'd call your doctor's office now and find out what he or she recommends. CALL YOUR DOCTOR! This is not something to address in this forum. Is the pain worse now than shortly after the surgery? If so you may have done some internal damge by lifiting your son.

I just had surg on Monday. I know what I want to die at first. But the more I move the better the pain gets at least it has for me. I also recommend taking gas X. Bc my doctor thought thats what I was having and I do believe he was right. Best of Luck. However when in doubt call your doctor!
