I had pain in my incision for about a month after surgery. I am almost two months out, and its not completely healed, but its alot better. As for the shoulder pain, you can still have gas in there from your surgery. If anytime you have any doubt, or any pain call your surgeon if you feel you need immediate answers! That is what they are there for. I had my surgeons office on speed dial for the first month!!! It all sounds normal to me, but if its unbearable, I would def call your surgeon to make sure its all normal for YOUR body! Good Luck! It gets so much easier with each passing day!!!

Did you have a drain in at all? I know I had a drain in and I felt the same way and the incision looked funky but it was just what they call an angry incision. I didn't have the pain in my left shoulder. Good luck hope you feel better soon.

You are only 3 weeks out... if you have gastric bypass that is major surgery, so although your incisions aren't large the amount of work that was done on the inside is huge. I am 5 months out and can hinestly say I feel good. Give your body time to heal and bounce back... Honestly, at 3 weeks post-op I was still wondering why did I do this to myself. I had a drain and that site was sore for a long time... not severe pain just annoying pain. Good luck and if your pains worsens or doensn't improve see your Dr. :)
