Question:
help i am having a hard time
i am trying to make a consultation appt with surgeon in kansas city and have looked up info on this website and there is one other person who has the same insurance as me and got approved .. but the docs office said i need preapproval before consultation and my insurance carrier, principal, won't approve even with medical necessity! can anyone help me?? this is so depressing .. my bmi is 52% and i have all kinds of weight related problems and CAN'T do it alone — Donna M. Hi.... I don't have an answer but would like to offer a word of
encouragement... DON'T GIVE UP!!!! BE PERSISTENT WITH THE INSURANCE
COMPANY. They will eventually listen and do something!!! Good Luck...

DO NOT GIVE UP......Get a copy of your insurance coverage booklet and see
if there is an exclusion. If there is then you will have to use your
comorbs to get your wls. Maybe you have comorbidities that wls could be
used as a treatment. Technically, you would be getting wls to reduce or
reverse your co morb (treating it) and not be treating the obesity. Does
that make sense??? You could contact obesitylaw.com. I have heard that a
letter from them can do wonders. Good Luck

After contacting the person that you said has the same insurance as you and
getting their feedback, you might find out that they had to fight just like
you might have to. Good luck on you quest to wls...Be brave..
