Question:
Will a guy notice an elevation in his testosterone level?

Recent blood work has shown a test. level below 200. I am pre-op awaiting approval. Does anyone have info on the test. level rising after surgery and losing a significant amount of weight? Or is this an inevitable factor related to age? I have tried the patches, but they were not perfect. Thanks <>    — Lynn P. (posted on January 2, 2003)

I used to give myself shots then went to the patches when they were finally available. I never could keep the patches on, plus they were uncomfortable. Now I use ANDROGEL. It is great. Email me for info if you want.

I was on the patches prior to surgery - none too compliant. I was happy to see at my 3-month blood work (which I had my PCP add an order for a testosterone level to) that my testosterone level had risen to the normal range...JR

After I got WLS my regular gave me a phyical and found that I had a low testosterone level. He put me on androgel and it helped a great deal. After some more testing they found out that I had a tumor on my pituatary gland and this seems to be the cause. It is being treated with drugs and seems to be shrinking. Have your Dr run some addititonal hormone tests. Good Lux
