Question:
kentucky drs

I would like to know if Dr. Shinah does the vbg and if not, why? I have heard it is performed by a couple of docs in Ky but I have never seen their names on the message board. Does anyone know anything about Dr. Larson in Louisville or Dr.Burton in Morehead?    — Kay K. (posted on June 22, 2000)

You can get information about Dr. Shina and the RightWeigh Bariatric Surgery Program at: http://www.riteweigh.com They can answer any of your questions you may have, but I believe Dr. Shina is the only doctor in the state to only do the Gastric Bypass. I have been to two seminars and for my consultation with him. He is wonderful. Just waiting on insurance approval. Hope this helps.

There are four doctors in Louisville, Ky that do Gastric Bypass Surgery. I used Dr Shina after talking with my PCP and Gastroenlogist. To my knowledge he only does the open Roux en y -Distal procedure. I have been very please if you go to the find a doctor page it may list the four doctors in Louisville. Good Luck

Hi, Dr. Shina from my understanding only performs one surgery and that is the one he considers (and ASBS) considers to be the most successful and thats the Open Distal. Check this however because it could be different now. Call his office @ 812-282-3930 and ask for Glynna. She will send you info on him. I am not familiar with the others you named, Shina is performing my surgery on the 31st. of July. Good Luck...Trina
