Question:
Has anyone had the AGB done?
I'm trying to find out some info on the newly FDA approved AGB (Adjustible Gastric Banding). I'm extremely scared of getting the RNY done, and think the AGB is the route for me. (Hopefully the surgeon will think so too) I'm looking for anyone's experience with it, good and bad, complications, successes, anything. I guess it's so new, here in the US that the info is limited. Hi,
I am having the band on August 27th! I am all for it. You will notice
that alot of posting for this type of surgery are some what negative. I
guess years ago the stappling method wasn't as good, but medically this
type of surgery has come along way. It is as good as any other! Just a
little slower weight loss, I can deal with that. Less recovery time, in the
hospital for 24 hrs, back to work in a week, (((providing everything goes
well)))& who wants to lose all the weight so fast? I know I don't. Good

of information on the AGB. It is another choice we have, and I think it's
great!

I just found your question about the AGB and I would like to volunteer my
email address - I had the Adjustable Gastric Band procedure done on Sept.
9th, 2002 and I can probably answer most of the questions you have. I can
TOTALLY understand your fear of the RNY - I had the same fears and still do
