Question:
suggestion please....good lap ryn surgeon at a good price.....

Although I have double coverage ins I will be a self pay(unbeleavable)....but I'd like to be a smart shopper and find a surgeon around the country that is GOOD, DOES LAP RYN and maybe is more reasonable than $25,000.00....plz give me some advise...thanx    — [Anonymous] (posted on June 16, 2000)

Visit http://www.sabariatric.com/ These are two doctors in San Antonio who specialize in the surgery. The best part is they've worked out a deal with the hospital of a "set price" for those who self pay in full. This means if you have complications the hospital will cover it. The amount is around $11,200 for open RYN. They are working on a deal for lap RYN right now so I'd keep checking their site. I'm self pay too! (Insurance exclusion) Hang in there!

My daughter and I both had lap RNYs with Dr. Champion in Atlanta. She was private pay and the entire package (surgeon, surgical assistant, anesthesia and hospital) was about $18,000. There is also an all-inclusive contract with the hospitals that he uses in the Atlanta area. Good luck!

Price should not be a consideration when deciding on the minigastric bypass. In the long run the complications from it could cost you much more than you would imagine possible. It is an obsolete procedure. Please do your research. You may vist http://www.fourlane.com/mgb to find more information.
