Question:
Has anyone been on the WLS Information Center website? Is this site anti WLS?

I have enjoyed this site so much, and have felt encouraged while reading the profiles. However, the WLS Information Center seems to print the most negative information regarding WLS that I have ever read. Of course I am interested in knowing what all the complication of this surgery are, but their site seems so anti WLS. If anyone has contacted this site and would like to comment, please email me at [email protected]. Thanks - Grace    — Grace H. (posted on July 7, 2002)

This site is managed by sue Widemark. A woman who has an opinion about everything and only her's can possibly be right. I would take anything you read on this site with a grain of salt!

Sues sky is falling is sad! Her mailing list is biased by this attitude. I have posted to it when I have time. Right now I a SWAMPED! She fails to realize folks die waiting for surgery, from their co morbidities. Its true some bad things happen... But MOST of us end up healthier and happier as a post op. Dont let her quotes scare you. She takes them out of context. EVERYONE needs to be aware of the risks, but hey WLS saved MY LIFE:)
