Question:
I'm trying to find a doctor in Canada who performs these surgeries!

I have been told by my doctor in Manitoba that these surgeries are NOT available in Canada. I'm desparately trying to locate a surgeon. Please help me!    — Laurie O. (posted on December 6, 2000)

If you are in the Manitoba area, there are several doctors in North Dakota and Minnesota who perform WLS. My doctor in Bismarck does the FOBI procedure while the one in Minot does the RNY *I think*. There are also several in Minnesota who do the FOBI, RNY and VBG. If you would like more information, please email me at [email protected] Good luck!

Hi there, I also am trying to find a surgeon in Canada. I live in the Toronto area and have been able to make an appointment for 14 months from now just for the initial consult. This is very frustrating. However, there is another web-site www.obesity.chair.ulaval.ca which can help you find a surgeon in Canada, although there are no listed surgeons in Manitoba. However, don't lose hope because I found some surgeons on this site that were not listed in the University of Laval site. Good luck to you!!!
