Question:
has anyone else qualified w/ similar situation

I have a bmi of 37.9 at 5'6 237 . I have very few co-morbs ex. lower back pain, joint pain, huge family history of diabeties, conjestive heart failure ect. I do have alot of Dr. suppervised diets. My consultation is 15 days away and every time I think of rejection I tear up. I cannot face another diet. I have also been eating more than normal to try and boost my bmi for weigh in. does anyone have any encouraging testimonials to share?    — Lindsay F. (posted on January 27, 2003)

HI THERE, I STARTED WITH A LOW, LOW BMI OF ABOUT 32, WITH MAJOR CO MORBIDS , HOWEVER YOU HAD TO START WITH ATLEAST A 35, SO I PURPOSELY GAINED SOME WEIGHT TO GET MY BMI UP THERE.....AND BY THE TIME I HAD SURGERY MY BMI WAS UP TO A 39....IM 5'9, AND AT MY INITIAL CONSULTATION, I SLOUCHED TO A 5'7....LISTEN, IF YOU WANT IT THAT BAD YOU WILL HAVE IT!

I have not experienced this situation but I have heard of people slouching when getting measured, rolls of quarters in pockets, layers of heavy clothing. Hope this helps. ** kelly
