Question:
Has anyone found a chewable Calcium citrate?

Everytime I think I have found a chewable calcium, it turns out to be carbonate. Anyone find anything in citrate???    — susanje (posted on June 20, 2003)

Yes, Twinlabs makes one that's cherry flavored. You can order it at Vitaminshoppe.com, or if you have a Vitamin Shoppe in your area, they carry it. I haven't found them any other place.

Actually, the Twinlab chewable calcium citrate is a citrus blend of orange, cherry, lemon, lime, pineapple, grape and tangerine *G*. If you go to http://www.twinlab.com, you will see a link to find where Twinlab products are sold. Doing this for your zip code, Susan, turns up: COLLEGE MARKET, 15 ANGWIN PLAZA, ANGWIN, CA 94508 (707) 965-6321 ... or you can go with the Vitamin Shoppe (if one is in your area) or Vitaminshoppe.com (which is what I use)...Hope this helps, JR

I would suggest getting the Twinlab chewables online. I got them at a local health store for $14.95, but at www.vitacost.com they were $7.50. I ordered 2 bottles, so for a total of $20 ($4.95 shipping) I got what would have cost $30 at the store.

The only thing about those is that you have to take a lot to get in your daily calcium. I take the citrate capsules I get from vitalady.com. I open them and pour the powder into my protein shake before blending.

Have you tried the Viactiv chews? You only need to take 3 per day, and it's kind of like eating a caramel. I take the chocolate ones and they're really pretty good.

Viactiv is calcium CARBONATE - read the package. If you are a post-RNY, taking Viactive does you as much good as eating a piece of candy...JR

Go to www.vitaminshoppe.com; also www.vitacost.com and vitamincottage.com. You might want to search the web and compare prices on Chewable Calcium Citrate tablets. I believe they come in wafers, though~check the dosage/strenth to make sure you are getting the right dosage. I remember seeing one that you had to chew 4 wafers.
