Question:
Can excess skin be removed from your thighs at the same time as the abdominoplasty?

I carried a lot of my excess weight in my thighs, and I am wondering if anyone has had their thighs and stomach done at the same time? If you can give me any information about this, please email me at: [email protected]    — Allison_Belue (posted on March 7, 2004)

This would depend on your plastic surgeon. Some will do thigh lift with tummy tuck. Most will not do thigh lift if you are having a lower body lift.

My PS prefers not to do too many procedures at once. His choice is to not keep you under anesthesia longer than 4-5 hours unless absolutely necessary. I wish he would, as I would like to get my breasts done with the TT but, no dice. He's family so I trust my judgement.

I believe it will matter as to how much you need done in the abdominoplasty. I just had 19 lbs of skin removed during a lower body lift and trust me I would not have wanted them to mess with my inner thighs. The pain from the tight skin on my whole middle section was way more than enough. The pain from a thighplasty (incision down the inside of legs) is supposed to be quite bad for a week or so because the skin is so tight that it's darn hard to find a way to sit. Mine need to be done but I am going to have to psych myself up for it. If you just have a thigh lift done (incision in the groin area and skin is pulled up), then it might not be as bad. <p>I do plan on doing an upper abdominoplasty, something with breasts and possibly arms at the same time, but they are all in the same general area. I don't want my arms and legs incapacitated at the same time.

Hi. No problem doing the thighs as part of a body lift or a standard a-plasty. Take a look at my website pics (no WLS pics yet...sorry!) and notice the thigh tightening in front and in hip area. Much of this is done through the A-plasty incision. Its not a lot of extra work to get the inner thigh lift done at the same time. I do not do breasts, face, arms at the same time as a body lift...too much incapacitation! But standard A-plasty, breast lift and thigh lift are no problem.
