Question:
has anyone been approved under cobra?

I need to know if anyone has been approved under cobra? I may have to do this because my husband may be laid off from his job. thanks    — taterbug898 (posted on March 9, 2004)

It comes down to what the policy currently covers, as all cobra does is continue those same benefits. So if it would not cover it now, cobra won't likely either. Good Luck!

I had my RNY under COBRA...but the plan did cover the surgery. I quit a job for a better one and found out that the new jobs ins. didn't cover WLS so I opted for COBRA for two months so I could get the surgery. If the ins. plan covers the surgery and you are covered under COBRA and keep up the payments (provided you qualify for WLS) then you should be approved. If the ins. plan doesn't cover WLS then COBRA won't matter b/c it's just a continuation of the employers plan. Good luck to you!

i had my saurgery with cobra its the same as your regulare policy if your old policy covers it cobra will just make sure you keep up your payments and make sure you make them on time there is no late time with cobra good luck
