Question:
I'm scheduled for surgery soon with BTC and need to lose 250 lbs

I am anxious to hear from other post-ops that have had to lose this much that have gone to BTC. Am I making the right choice?    — Jay C. (posted on May 9, 2002)

hi there i had open rny on feb 8 im i didnt have it done at a btc because insurance wouldnt let me i had to go with a doc in my group i needed to lose 225 im now down 75 in 3 months you have to make the choice thats best for you listen to your inner voice and your heart i can say for myself i now more than ever am very happy i made this choice with each dwindling pound it only gets better i feel and am starting to look much better best of luck to you carrie

Check out Rex Clute's profile on this site. He is a man from our support group that has lost 134 pounds in 4 months. He is awesome and a wonderful man.

I'm in California, si I didn't use BTC, but I used Pacific Bariatrics, a very reputable clinic in Southern California. I needed to loose aroun 250. I am 8 months post-op and have lost 183 lbs. It came off rapidly at first, the last couple of months it has slowed to 10 lbs. per month. Still respectable, but slower than I would like. LOL
