Question:
Has anyone had laparoscopic surgery with Dr. Zorn or Dr. Tanaka?
I am hoping to have laparoscopic surgery with Dr. Tanaka or Dr. Zorn at Pacific Bariatrics. I am wondering about your experiences with them. I was disappointed to hear that they may look for reasons to NOT do it by scope. Any help would be appreciated. — Diana L. (posted on July 7, 2002)

please, please check out pacific bariatrics throughly...they will tell you
that they may do the lap procedure on you...but after you go through all
the phych evaluations..etc,,etc,,etc...and finally get to see the
surgeon...they will give you a "reason" they cannot do lap on
you..i have not heard from one person that has had the lap procedure from
pacific bariatrics. i keep hearing that a few doctors wil do it...but i
still haven't found one person that has actually had it
done!!!!!!!!!!!!!even in their seminars..they admit to only doing 120
laproscopic procedures...well, this isn't enough for me compared to
thousands that other surgery centers do...!!i think pacific bariatrics is
still "old school". there are surgery centers all over
now..please check into any of the others...double d

Ohh my gosh! I am having my surgery done through Pacific Bariatrics also! I
have my consultation with Dr. Zorn on April 9th. This scares me reading
this! Because I do NOT want to have my surgery done open. I DO NOT!!! I am
100% sure that I want it done lap. Thank you for posting this question! I
am so glad that I read it. Should I tell them when I go, that if I cant
have it done lap then I think I am gonna go somewhere different?
