Question:
Why Am I Having Pain at Only One Incision Site ?

I am 1 week post-op from LAGB surgery. I had an umbilical hernia repaired and my gallbladder removed at the same time. I have 7 incisions on my abdomen. Most of the incisions are sore, but no longer hurt. There is an incision under my left breast and it feels like there's a knot at the incision site. When I press it, it feels hard? Does anyone know what this is from ? Should I be concerned? The other incision sites are fine.    — Carolyn H. (posted on August 13, 2003)

I had the same exact problem at about 1 week post-op...I had so much pain from that one incision I was miserable...I called the doctor, who said I probably just had a pocket of blood pooled there. A night with the heating pad on it, and then getting the staples out the next day releived it completely!! Not sure exactly what was going on, but it's better now, and that "knot", bump kind of thing that I felt under the incision is no longer there (at three weeks post-op)... so, have your doc check it out, but it's likely nothing to worry about... good luck, hope it feels better soon.
