Question:
Has anyone NOT had to have plastic surgery to reduce skin flaps?

I am 27 with a BMI of 53.8. I am concerned about excess skin after the surgery and the need for additional surgery to remove it. Has anyone NOT had this problem with skin that was about my size and age?    — Rebekka A. (posted on January 20, 2003)

Hi Rebekka, I am 23 an am six months post-op. My skin is doing great as far as shrinking down. I'm not saying I don't have stretch marks because I do. I have a daughter and pregnancy did that for me, but as far as plastic surgery, I don't think I will ever need it. I will be posting pics soon. By the way, I started out a size 22/24 and am currently in a size eight. Good Luck!

I am 8 months post op down 120 pounds, about 20 pounds below goal. I have no sagging skin. My tummy is just a little squishy. But I wouldn't expect to have rock solid abs after four kids anyway. I have taken Real Meals since I was about 4 weeks post op. The protein and lean muscle stimulators in it help you to retain all of your underlying muscle while losing weight to help prevent the saggy appearance.

I am 9 months out and down 149 pounds and am below my original goal. I don't need to have any plastic surgery. I'm not saying I look like Mr. America but I don't have anything hanging anywhere. I was worried about the apron but that was the last thing to disappear. I am 38 and I've only been MO for about 7 years, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
