You are probably still waiting because of the ins. not the surgeon and no longer than you have been waiting you certainly don't need to jump the gun and switch docs at this point. Some people have to wait for several months. So far since your latest paperwork was submitted you have only waited a few days. Relax. It will happen!!!!1

Tarsha, I know that when it's yourself, the wait seems to be an eternity. However, I have to agree with the previous poster, the insurance companies are usually the ones to stall. The best advice is be your own advocate! Call the insurance and ask if they have received the info, if not take a copy to MailMart or some other place that has a fax machine and fax it yourself. Make copies of everything. Ask the surgeon's office if you can do anything to help the process, etc. By switching doctors BEFORE approval you may cause more of a delay. Try to be patient, it's really hard to do I know! Good Luck to you!

I have just been through the same process with Cigna insurance, except they kept losing my fax. I took it upon myself to ask to speak with a supervisor, which in return called the nurse reviewer to see if they could expedite the process for me. I found out within a week after that, but was persistent in calling every other day to find out about updates. I also asked my surgeons office for a faxed copy of everything they sent. It really depends on how they word it if it has to be medically necessary for your insurance company to cover it. Also some insurance companies only will do medically necessary. Have you checked to make sure what your stipulations are in your specific policy??
