What to Expect

I just recently visited a friend who had Lap RNY. She is only 6 days post op. Seems to be difficult to keep anything down. Is this normal for the first week after surgery. I am scheduled for about a week and just want to know what to expect the first couple of day. I know everyone is different but I just want to be prepared. Is the incisional pain secondary to other side effects. Could you please share the first couple of days with me. Thanks!    — Tami G. (posted on May 1, 2000)

I did not have lap, had open and for the first week or so I was nausued. I threw up some too. But, now I am 12 weeks out and I dont vomit anymore. Lost over 50lbs. Everyone is different. Good luck
