Dr. Ujiki is a surgeon and researcher. He’s a very nice doctor and always smiling. He is my surgeon and overall I am pleased
with my bypass and the results. Dr. Ujiki is a busy surgeon but he cares for his patients and makes sure that his team does too. Dr. Ujiki goes above and beyond caring for his patients. When I was post op and had questions and concerns but the doctor’s day was over he personally called me on his personal phone to talk to me in addition to the residents seeing me. Dr. Ujiki also cares about or pays attention to other factors such as home life when caring for his post op patients upon making discharge preparations. The doctor was not sure if I had help at home
for when I was to be discharged and he checked with me because he was anticipating to discharge me to a care facility to make sure I was safe and cared for properly. He didn’t just treat me and kick me out into the world with no
thought of how I get care and heal. I am grateful to have had Dr. Ujiki as my surgeon and looking out for me until
I was recovered. He’s smart and very knowledgeable about bariatric procedures and care. I recommend him and his team for gastric bypass surgery and care. And just because you’re surgery is over and you are fresh to far out post op he does not just separate from your care but you must do your part
in keeping in contact as advised.

Too anyone considering using Dr. Haggerty of the North Shore Medical Group and Highland Park Hospital system.
I had my gastric bypass surgery in August-2017, so I am over seven months past that time right now. Inclusive of the 3-4 months preparations, planning & diet prior to the surgery. I was 309 lbs when I started and I am now, 197 so my total lost to date is 112 lbs and still losing a little more every week.
I feel the preparations, education, support groups available and awesome care by Dr. Haggerty and is group are a of the highest professional and caring consortium. The people that make up this group and Dr. Haggerty himself, they are the ultimate in a total care in one package. From start to follow up I have always felt the utmost care and attention by Dr. and his team.
I would highly recommend their program for anyone considering looking into getting professional help, in loosing a great deal of weight and keeping it off. This will overall improve your health, looks, family life and life expectancy too. Their post & after surgery care, testing and follow up is inclusive of their total program and success of helping many people and myself too.
Thanks you Dr. Haggerty and your team for helping exceed my weight loose expectations, caring and preparing pre-surgery and afterwards too. I am a new & happier person and my wife and family too. I look forward to my follow up appointment later this week. Sincerely....and thanks for your successful help over the last 12 months !!!! Larry K. of Skokie, IL.

I went to Dr. Denham for help after I had a VBG erode to my stomach. He was arrogant, pompass, and self righteous. He actually refused to help me. He was very non empathetic and non compassionate. He actually told me he was not going to help me, and I needed to go back to that hospital, and the Dr. who did the prior work on me .The prior surgeon was a horrible experience and caused me much pain, and lots of mental anguish. I have never experienced a medical professional refuse to help a patient in pain. Until I met Dr. Denham. Years have passed now. I am still having the same pain as I was. Dr Denham was my first choice for the original procedure. (The removal of the eroded band. )However, my insurance company sent me for a second opinion, and forced me to choose the second opinion Dr. instead of Dr. Denham. It seemed to me, Dr. Denham was angry at the choice the insurance company imposed on me, and he refused me based on that. As long as I live, I can never believe a Dr. refused me based on his spite, and anger with me based on the insurance companies decision. It was not my fault.....but he wanted to show me and make me suffer for something out of my control. Makes the hipppocratic oath seem non existent.

Do not even consider Dr. Haggerty for WLS. He is a complete lack of concern for his patients and their results. He does not stand behind his work or take any responsibility for surgeries. I had surgery with him over 16 months ago and my results have been below average and am having significant weight gain, i went to Dr. H with my concerns, he ordered a test and saw that my sleeve was not functioning properly, but said there was nothing he could do about it. He did not even try to get the revision covered and just treated me like they treat all their patients, more like production line instead of individualized care! He offered no other solutions other than me figuring it out myself or gaining back enough weight so that i would "qualify" for another surgery. He took no interest in me or my struggles and basically blamed my weight gain on me and not on his surgery that obviously was not performed correctly. I am beyond disappointed and cannot believe that someone would not take pride in his work or of his patients. He has absolutely no personality and doesn't ask any questions or offer much information. I really don't understand how he is a surgeon. I only saw him a total of maybe 3 times in the year and half of being his patient. All patients just see his bariatric nurse who also does not listen to you as an individual but only a grouping. I told her for one straight year that something wasn't right and i had no restriction, but she just kept telling me everything was normal...well it wasn't. Do not even consider Dr. Haggerty if you want results and good care!

Dr. Denham is an amazing doctor. He's very understanding, easy to talk to, and very caring. Having gastric bypass surgery was the best decision I ever made. I had diabetes, asthma, knee pain from too much weight and sleep apnea. It's been 3 years since my surgery and I'm no longer diabetic and I sleep just fine. I lost 75 lbs. and I've kept the weight off. Dr. Denham saved my life!!!!!

Excellent experience with Dr. Denham. From the beginning consultation he was very kind and extremely helpful and informative on all my options. Took plenty of time to explain the surgeries and what each entailed. Told me what he recommended but said decision was totally my choice. Surgery went very well. Up and walking in no time and thankfully no complications. He came to see me after the surgery. Very encouraging. Great followup. His whole staff is excellent - extremely efficent, kind and caring and excellent informative timely responses to any/all questions.
