Dr. Naaman is really good about answering all of your questions. He is a very skilled surgeon. His staff is wonderful and friendly. I appreciated all of their help.

HE IS NOT VERY TALKATIVE. AND IF YOU DO NOT ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS OR ANY AT ALL, HE WILL NOT JUST TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. MY FIRST VISIT TO HIS OFFICE WAS ON 1/18/01. DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CAME WITH A FOLDER OF INFORMATION AND HAD DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS FOR ME, THE VISIT TOOK ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINTUES. I WAS GIVEN A SURGERY INFORMATION BOOKLET AND SENT HOME. AND IT COST AROUND 200 DOLLARS FOR THAT 5 TO 10 MINTUES VISIT. BERNICE IS THE BEST ASSET OF THAT OFFICE BECAUSE SHE HELPED ME A LOT AND GAVE ME INFORMATION THAT I DID NOT KNOW I NEEDED. THE SECOND TIME I SAW DR. NAAMAN WAS ON 4/17/01 AND I WAS SO NERVOUS THAT I ONLY ASKED HIM ABOUT HIS AFTER CARE PROGRAM TO WHICH HE EXPLAINED TO HE IS THE ONLY SUPPORT NEEDED FOR THE NEXT YEAR FOLLOWING THE SUGERY. LATER ON A WEEK LATER I HAD SO QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE SURGERY THAT I DID NOT THINK TO ASK ON 4/17/01 AND I SENT A E MAIL PLUS CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE AND I AM WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. TEREAS THE RECEPTIONIST ACTED LIKE THEIR WAS A PROBLEM WITH ME CALLING ABOUT MY LAB TEST THAT WAS PREFORMED ON 4/17/01 AND NO ONE HAD BOTHERED TO EVEN HAVE THEM FAXED TO THE OFFICE OR CALL ME. I REALLY THOUGHT THE STAFF WAS INTERESTED IN HELPING ME, BUT NOW I SEE ALONG WITH DOCTOR NAAMAN THEY ARE DOING THEIR JOB. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS PAYING MY SUGERY AND I AM PAYING MY INSURANCE PREMUIMS AND EXCEPT FOR PAM AND BERNICE, THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I AM IMPOSING. I EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT CANCELLING THE SURGERY AND FINDING SOMEONE ELSE. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL PRETEND TO CARE. HOPEFULLY DR NAAMAN WILL CALL ME BACK BEFORE FRIDAY TO ANSWER MY CONCERNS OR I WILL PROBABLY FIND SOMEONE ELSE. STILL DECIDING. THESE ARE THE PERSONAL THINGS THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY BEARING ON THE OUTCOME OF SOMEONELSE'S DECISION TO GO WITH DR. NAAMAN.

03/27/01 - I had my last visit with Dr. Naaman before my surgery date of 4/4. I do believe he is a competent surgeon. Today I went in with a handful of questions, and he took the time to answer each one and thoroughly. His office staff is great and I love his nurse...she is so friendly and puts you at ease. I'll have more to update you on after my surgery!

First I can start off by saying I visited with him the first time on March 8 2001. I have to say I loved him and his office staff. Theresa is so nice and never acts like my silly questions bother her. They submitted my insirance papers and the next day called to let me know what else they needed. They seem so caring and patient. His nurse , oh my gosh, you couldn't ask for a better personality.
I am a VBG pateint, which simply means I have had surgery with another dr and had the Vertical banded Gastroplasty. It worked but I had to have revisioon after revision.I love this Dr's strait forwardness. In my book he is an AAAAAA++++++ and I will let you know more as time goes on.

Dr. Naaman is a "prima dona"... You know the
type... God comes to him for a physical!
But he's VERY, VERY good at what he does!
His office staff is very efficient and keeps
on top of things. He doesn't mind answering
all your questions. In fact, he seemed
impressed that I came in to the first appt.
"armed to the teeth" with information (from
this site) as well as questions. He sat down
and answered ever one. I've had two other
friends have surgery with him and, they too,
appreciated his surgical expertise.

Dr. Naaman was fantastic. His staff was great. He does not have a structured after care program, but provides lots of support. I would give him an A plus overall.

I had my surgery Lapriscopically on March27th 2000. At Memorial City hosptial in Houston. I now weigh 131 lbs almost a year later. I did have some severe complications and would not recommend my surgeon or Memorial City Hosptial. I spent 28 days in the hopstial with Sepsis and 8 weeks on IV antibiotcs at home. I had 3 blood transfusions and had to have a second surgery 2 days after my first surgery to correct a looped nercrotic bowel. It had to be open so the lap part was a waste. I should have just done it OPEN to begin with and none of the other would have happened. I was one of his frist LAPRNY paitents. So I was a guniea pig.

I have only seen Dr. Naaman once in early Dec
but my first impresion is of a kind, gentle caring man. I have had more interaction w/ his staff and they have been wonderful. My insurance co changed in Jan; and they had no problem w/taking the info submitted to a previous company and resubmitting it to my present ins; a company I have no previous experience with so now I am just working w/ his staff doing whatever they tell me they need. I have also found it is better to just go w/ the flow and let everyone do what they need to do; I have no question about the procedure being approved;I'm just content to just let it happen when it happens. Also, I am part of a PPO so I don't have the hassels that seem to be part of the HMO system.I think Dr.Naaman will be a very good surgon for me; as his experience is extensive and I will be getting a reversal w/a bypass. Anyone who has any questions about him can e-mail me; if I can help I will.

Dr. Naaman is a middle aged man. He is very polite. He has been doing this type of surgery for years. He does both Gastroplasy & by-pass. I have choosen to have the RNY. My date is 11-10-99 The staff is very nice & helpful. If you have problems with your ins. co. I would sugest that you give the ladies a call at his office. They are willing to answer any & all questions that you may have. So will Dr. Naaman he answered all my questions. He gives you all of the risk up front & basicially let you decide if you want the surgery. He stesses that you must WALK, WALK, WALK,WALK after surgery. He belives in you helping by doing what he tells you. Overall I was very pleased with Dr. Naaman & his staff. He is serious about you walking he expects you to do it. As for really long term aftercare I'm not sure, cause I've only been out for 1 week. I see him again on the 30th for my second follow up. Yes he does address the risk of the surgery & more than willing to answer your questions. Well the only thing negative I have to say about Dr. Naaman is that he does not have a aftercare program.

Dr. Naaman is a man of few words and even less with his sense of humor.
My first impression never changed, I knew he was an excellent surgeon and over looked the fact that he was not a talker.
Dr. Naaman's staff was and is still great to work with.
The thing I liked least was his unability to talk and relate to the fat person in his office.
He is a great surgeon but you have to get him to open up and talk.
Dr. Naaman is strict on the after care, diet and walking.
The after 6 weeks on clear liquids you are on your own.
He only told me about risks when I asked about them.
I would give him an overall rating of three stars out of four.
Surgical competence is far better than bedside manner!!!!!!!!
