Dr. Pennington is great! Very caring and professional. He puts his patients in ICU immediately following surgery, which is a wonderful thing in my estimation. I was in and out in less than 48 hours, and have not had any major problems. His staff is great and very helpful. The aftercare is very good and I would reccomend him and his staff to anyone.
I love Dr. Pennington. He is so kind and understanding. Before my consult I had to attend a meeting and they explained everything that we needed to know. When I went to see Dr. Pennington he also went over everything again to make sure I didn't have any questions. I haven't had surgery yet but I have been approved. I would strongly recommend him to anyone that ask.
Dr. Pennington is absolutely wonderful. He is patient, kind, and willing to listen and answer any questions asked of him. My husband was most impressed with his dedication to keeping waiting family informed during the surgery. I couldn't have been more confident than I was with him as my Physician.
Dr Pennington was not the first surgeon I met at a seminar, but was the last. I was impressed in the manner he conducted himself at the seminar and then was pleasantly surprised at my appointment that he actually found out what I already knew so he could really help me specifically. The staff at the office has been patient and kind. Today is 8/22/03 and 8/26/03 is surgery day!!
8/30/2003 Surgery is over, 3 days in the hospital, home two days and still recovering nicely. Dr Pennington is great, He did a great job on the surgery (a word of caution, if you a hairy stomached man..shave at home, the most pain I have actually had is from nicks and razor burn) He is a caring man and an excellent Doctor. He asks to have prayer before surgery and is a very humble man with the recognition that the MASTER is in charge and he is assisting him.
His assistant (DR Willis) is going to be a good doctor when he gets some age on him.
I have known Scott personally for many years, so I feel very fortunate to have him for my surgeon. HIs staff is very helpful, and sort of hold your hand through the hardest part of the process...waiting and paperwork. He was very thoughrough and understanding about our situation. He offers a powerpoint presentation before he will schedule your appointment. This was helpful for answering so many questions, and was presented in away that you could bring spouse, etc. to help make the decision. He addressed the risks of surgery and other issues that I have that might be a factor, but believed in my ability to stick with it. His office offers a support group that meets once a month, and I am excited about going to that. I haven't had my surgery yet, so I can post more later, but he is a wonderful man and a fine Christian Dr., and I trust him to do the best job.
My first impression of Dr. Pennington was a very positive one. He had a very kind manner and seemed to be very interested in helping me. He really took a lot of time with me, I felt like I was the only patient he had. He did a great job of educating me about the procedure and risks vs. benefits. His program is very structured and easy to understand. Everything has gone like clockwork from day one. His office staff is very kind and supportive!
My first impression of Dr. Pennington was a good one, and I was correct. He is a Christian. He gives you all the time you need to talk with him and goes into detail to answer all your guestions.He has a wonderful bed side manner. He went into detail about all the risk. He explained in detail what to expect before and after surgery.My surgery is scheluded for Feb.18 03. I have less than to weeks to wait. I am feeling very positive. I have a Hiatal Hernia that gave me some concern in making my mind up to have the surgery. He went into detail with me about this. I was very informed and pleased with the answer he gave me in regard to the Hernia. He has a wonderful staff that have been very informative and kept me up to date with insurance and appointments. I have received some support from former patients and all has been good. I feel that the after care progrom that I have is very structered. i ask for anyone that reads this to kept me in your prayers. I have put this in God's hands and feel very positive. I would recommend Dr. Pennington to anyone. He specializes in other types of surgery as well. May God bless each and everyone. These are my persoal impressions. I will not make any statements about what are how someone else might feel.

Yes it only got better the more i talked with him and got to know him.
His staff could be more helpful they were slow in processing my paper work to my insurance company .

if you are considering gastric by=pass surgery he is the dr to see.
he cares about his patients he saw me 2 times before i went into the operationg room and had prayer with me, then he saw me 3 times after my surgery during the day.
he follows you very close.
yes he sat me down and told me all the pro and cons before and gave me a month to make sure it was what i wanted to do
rate him on a scale of 1 to 10 he would be an 11 he is just outstanding
both are just great. he is never in a hurry he will sit and answer anything you want to ask him for as long as it takes. when he is with you, you are all that is on his mind.
Scott Pennington is part of Montclair Surgical Associates and is a skillful surgeon who educated me on the process, the risks, the benefits. I had a sense of peace from the beginning. This sense was confirmed on the day of surgery as I was being rolled into the surgery area, he stopped for a moment and prayed with me right there on the stretcher. I was truly impressed as he acknowlegded God as the Great Physician and he was merely the superintendent of His.
