Alison Clarey Bariatric Surgeon D.O.

I was very excited to have surgery with Dr. Clarey, i had my surgery in November and it is now April and I am 119lbs lighter, I am so happy with my progress and Dr. Clarey has been there the whole way. I have not had one problem with her as a surgeon, I had some problems with the hospital but I owe my success to Dr. Clarey and her staff. Thank you Dr. Clarey.

I was very excited to have Dr. Clarey as my surgeon. The office and staff was very helpful with any type of questions or concerns that I had. Every visit she was very nice and educated me on the risks and how the procedure itself would go. I would definitely recommend Dr. Clarey to anyone that is considering weight loss surgery.

At first i was impressed with my surgeon, but my opinion changed when i was having unexplained pain and ended up spending 8 &1/2 hours in the ER with the impression she was going to meet me there and check me out. Then, the next day she wanted me readmitted to the ER after they found nothing wrong with a catscan. She came and quickly examined me in my room then slunked away stating, \" i cant prescribe the type of pain medicine you need!\" because my current remedy wasn't working. WHAT??? You can prescribe CII narcotics and you're a surgeon?rn so i was passed onto a pain doc and i am still not comfortable and still nauseated and miserable as i'll get out! Once i was sliced and diced and the office was guaranteed to be paid, i was just sluffed off and my needs ignored.

At first meeting she was very kind, very easy to understand and patient with all of my questions. The staff was very friendly, both in person as well as those that I have talked with over the phone. My surgery is scheduled 3/21/08 and I am confident that I will be in very good hands. I am sure that God wouldn't have brought me here otherwise.

Dr. Clarey has been wonderful from the first moment I met her. She took great care to answer all of my questions and she made sure that I was well educated about the surgery, the risks and my new post op life! She has a wonderful bedside manner, very caring and made me feel very comfortable. Her office staff is very good, several of them are former patients themselves so they know exactly what you are going through and are very understanding and helpful. There's a great support group available to her patients. I've had so far only 1 appointment with her post op but she was very thorough and stressed that if I have ANY questions or problems that I should not hesitate to contact their office immediately. That made me feel so good. Even though I have had no problems to date, it's nice that I can feel like I can call and ask a question and not feel like I'm being silly or bothersome. I have yet to talk to anyone that had a negative experience with her or her staff. However that's not to say there isn't someone out there that has. I would choose Dr. Clarey again, but I would say to anyone considering surgery you should do your own diligent investigating before choosing a surgeon. You should never choose a surgeon solely on testimonials. This is your health and you must choose someone you are comfortable with and have full confidence in.

Dr. Clarey and Dr. Bruce were absolutely wonderful. Great bedside manner! I had no problems at all and continue to lose. I am finally at the weight that I wanted to be in the 10th grade! 150 lbs! I would like to lost about 20 more, but have a bit of excess skin, but not enough to surgically remove. They also have support groups and the staff have always been wonderful! There has been a few changes in staff and that has caused some disconnects, but for the most part they are positive, cheerful and responsive.rnrnDr Bruce and Dr make sure that all prospective patients know all the risks and possible outcomes of the surgery and program. I have know friends who have had a few problems, but nothing terrible. rnrnI would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Dr Clarey is a beautiful lady and has the best bed side manner! She makes you feel comfortable and is very empathetic. She is a great surgeon and knows exactly what she is doing! She has many years of experience behind her and I had total confidence in her abilities. I admired the way the hospital worked so diligently with her and Dr Bruce, her partner. There are structured group support meetings available. The staff works diligently with your insurance company so that approval can be swift. She gives point by point instructions on what to do, what to eat and when before and after surgery. I am only 14 days out from surgery and I feel great.

Dr. Clarey is AWESOME!!! I have been working with her for 5 years to get my surgery approved. My sixth attempt was the one that did it. She is very easy to talk to and answers all of your questions. Her staff is awesome as well. They are always there to answer any questions and provide support. It is a little hard to reach someone to find out if you have been approved, or if you have insurance questions, but I received a letter from my insurance company before they did. Aftercare is a big thing. They have called me a couple of times after surgery to see how I was doing and asked if there was anything I had questions about. The thing I like most about her practice is that she also works with Dr. David Bruce and they both do the surgeries together. It's reassuring knowing that there are two great surgeons in the operating room with you.

dr clarey was very attentive, seemed concerned and answered all my questions. so far, my impression has not changed, and i really don't think it will. she is/was professional, concerned and very attentive to my health.rnrnthe staff at the dayton bariatric center are some of the nicest people i have ever dealt with. they answer questions and are available for patients when needed.rnrnthe aftercare program is excellent. the support groups really help in answering questions as they occur. rnrnoverall, i would rate dr clarey and the dayton bariatric center as excellent. dr clarey has both an great bedside manner and she is super competent with the surgical procedure.rnrn

Very confident in what she does, good reviews. I'm in good hands.
