Dr. Ferrari and his staff were amazing. Dr. Ferrari covers all the risks and gains from each different type of WLS. I went with the Sleeve. Had it done on Thursday, and I'm sitting at home writing this review Friday night. Not much pain at all, and none of the horror stories that I've heard on here. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ferrari to anyone. The receptionist is especially helpful, I must have called her over 100 times in the past 2 weeks and she was always friendly and helpful.

After having a terrible experience with the Lap Band and the original surgeon, I was quite nervous to try again. Dr. Ferrari and his staff eased those fears. Dr. Ferrari did revision to remove the band and perform the sleeve, and I've had excellent results. In one year, I have lost 107 pounds and am 8 pounds away from goal! His follow ups have been thorough and helped keep me on track. I highly recommend him!

I just wanted to thank Carols Ferrari for the amazing job his team help while I've been under his care. If it wasn't for the wonderful staff and especially for his nurse Ms. Laura I won't know how to get through all these changes. My life is more wonderful and better after the surgery. His nurse walked me through everything step by step. She was very helpful and made sure all of my documents and insurance paper work was in order. I have recommended Dr. Ferrari to friends. Again I want to thank doctor Ferrari and Ms. Laura because she become more than nurse to me but a friend that I could talk to and confide in. There is not many places you can find this type of service!!

I want to say Dr. Ferrari seemed like a good surgeon. He was very smart, and helpful. However the "patient co-ordinator" was very unhelpful. She kept "not receiving" my medical records. the ones that were sent were always "Unfortunetly not use-able". She claimed some weren't good because they didn't have my weight recorded. Than why did I find my weight recorded 24 times when I got them from the doctors office in person and sat at home for an hour marking each weight with a sticky note. Then she submitted my paperwork. I get denied because the hospital isnt contracted with Cigna. Ok so I ask her to see what needs to be done to fix it. The response was giving me a surgery date. I call the next day to see if it was being looked into only to get yelled at because she gave me the surgery date so I basically keep my mouth shut about how long it was taking. Oh and when I asked for a copy of my medical records from her she lied and said she wouldn't be able to give them to me because it was against HIPPA. That wasn't true. My review in no way reflects on Dr. Ferrari as a surgeon. It reflects on the "patient co-ordinator" who is horrible at what she does and took the time to call hand harass me the day after I was no longer their patient. Then maybe 20 min later the office manager called to harass me as well. She actually told me good luck risking my life and recovery in another doctors care. Not only that but they were submitting me for the wrong surgery after I had already told them I didnt want DS. If you work in a medical office and your office makes a mistake you should not blame the patient because of your shortcomings. Very unprofessional.

Dr. Ferrari is AWESOME! My first impression of him was "approachable" and this has not changed since day 1. He was warm while also being to the point. We discussed my options and since day one his staff has been very proactive in getting my process going. Luly is sooooo friendly and I never feel bad going into his office. Dr. Ferrari did an EGD and Bravo test to see how bad my acide reflux was and he informed me that there was a chance I wouldnt be able to have the DS cause it could make my reflux worse. Well after all the testing and Abdominal series with that disgusting contrast, he notified me that I am ok to have the DS...I AM SOOOO excited! Thanks Dr. Ferrari for being the physician you are and I look forward to a long relationship with you and your great staff!

Dr. Ferrari is truly a life safer, before starting my research into the weight loss surgery I was very nervous about wanting to do something drastic to my body, so I decided after a couple of different Doctors seminars that I wanted to go with the lap-band procedure... Dr. Ferrari explained to me the difference in weight loss and which would benefit me the best. We decided that going with the RNY Gastric Bypass would benefit me the best with all my medical problems. Dr. Ferrari has a wonderful disposition about him, and a great beside manor (in which I had not found in the previous doctors I had visited)!
Dr. Ferrari was a little hard to understand at first, but that meant I could not just tune him out for talking to much (and with my attention span it was a good thing), which made me really pay attention and listen to him eagerly. It did make me nervous to begin with thinking we may have a communication barrier, but that was far from the case. His office staff (escpecially Lula) have been wonderful and very helpful. Any time I have had a question and/or concern they have been really happy to assist, really amazing team he has working for him... His knowledge of what works best for the patient is great as well, he seems to really know what he is talking about, which is really important. I would recommend him to anyone willing to make a commitment such as this, he is one remarkable man. If anyone is willing to take me on as a patient and work so well with me in my understanding then they are great in my book!!!

Sincerely,
Marian Fore

LOVE, love, love Dr. Ferrari. From the moment we met, I felt, "This is it!". I knew I finally found a Dr. I felt comfortable with and a true expert in the field. The process was super fast. In less than a month after my first appointment, I had the survey and it was a breeze. I'm into my first week after surgery and feel great. Left after only 2 days and have been doing really well. The after care team was as wonderful as can be. I have no regrets, only why didn't I go to him earlier! Dr. Ferrari is truly my angel and his entire office team is great.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ferrari's since the beginning of 2010. He performed my RNY surgery on June 17th, 2010 and I still go and see him every 6 months. He is an amazing doctor, great bedside manner, he actually cares about his patients, listens to them and is there for them through it all. I couldn't of picked a better doctor, so thankful he came into my life.

I had to switch doctors because of some hospital issues with my first doctor. It was a blessing in disguise. I will give an honest and thorough review including all negative and positive aspects.

Positives: Dr. Ferrari was very warm and friendly and took the time to answer all questions I had. I did not feel rushed. I had to read and initial a very detailed explanation of my procedure - what was being done, what to expect, what was reasonable, etc. It was the most comprehensive information in one reading I had encountered during my journey and explained everything. I had the majority of my homework out of the way, so he did not have to explain too much on the risks, but we did discuss them.

He has an excellent reputation as a skilled surgeon (all of the hospital staff seemed to really like him) and has a great bedside manner - the best of both worlds - so I felt comfortable going into surgery knowing he was in charge.

His office staff is excellent. I never felt like I was bothering them, they were friendly and in my opinion went out of their way to make sure I was informed and comfortable with any doubts I had.

He, his staff, and the hospital ALL emphasized aftercare. I have been going to support groups since last summer getting my questions answered, so I know how important they are. I am switching over to the MHHS/Memorial City group and will start attending my new group next month. I can't wait.

Negatives: None. Okay, they say I am supposed to have some, but I don't. If I ever can think of any, I will update my review, but please don't hold your breath.

I am only sorry I didn't start out my whole journey with him, but this turned out to be a "better late than never" situation.
