Dr.Harry Meyers in Carrollton, TX is great. He was very nice and spoke alot about what to expect from the surgery. His nurse, Ruth, was great. She informed me on just about everything I needed to know. The office staff was wonderful as well. Comical and relaxed. The surgery will be at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton. They required me to have a stress test that was done by a different group there in the office. They also require you attend one support group meeting before surgery (I have gone to two). And they ask that you loose 15-20 lbs before surgery to shrink your liver. They get you in and done pretty quick. The only reason it has taken so long for me to have the surgery was from my own doing. I chose to have the surger after April 29th for my own personal reasons.

Dr. Meyers is an excellent surgeon with years of experience. He and his assistant were very personable and knowledgable about WLS. We did not meet in a large group. It was a personal meeting with my husband and I. I was very impressed with the personal attention.

Dr. Meyers has a support group that meets every month. Dr. Meyers and his assistant attend every meeting. They also provide professional speakers at these meetings.

I feel that Dr. Meyers is an excellent surgeon with great bedside manner. I would recommend him to everyone interested in WLS. I am even helping my parents to get referrals from the primary care physicians to see him regarding WLS.

I have a consult scheduled for 1/30/03. They do have an after care program (Meetings)

Met Dr. Meyers and staff today. I have to agree with others he is very knowledgable and very straight forward. I was very impressed and excited. He said I could do lap and he is very good in that area. I feel very comfortable and Can't wait until Feb 7th to do my stress test. Then I do my endoscope and then surgery.

Wow! I really like Dr. Meyers and his staff. The staff is relaxed and easy going. They make you feel comfortable and at ease. They explain the procedure very well. And while Dr. Meyers is relatively new to the WLS field he has an extensive background in laproscopic surgery.
A support group has been established by Dr. Meyers and his staff, that they require you to attend at least once before surgery. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and the choice that I made.

I met my surgeon on January 10,2003 and he seemed like a pretty nice guy. He seemed to be really confident in what he was doing. He answered all my question very patiently.
The staff was wondeful very concerned and caring, also very informative (they new just as much as he did).
He stressed aftercare and that he would be really close because his office is at the hospital. He explained all the risks of the surgery and all the different types of surgery. He also very well trained in both procedures. I asked him if he was having the surgery which would he prefer and he stated the "open", which is what I have decided to get.

Dr Meyers was referred to me by a co worker of mine. My first impression of Dr Meyers is that he is very knowledgable of the surgery. On my first visit he informed me of the complications and risks of the wls. He did state that this surgery is not for everyone and he doesn't suggest the surgery to everyone that comes to his office. Although I did a lot of research myself, he gave me additional information and also showed me pictures and diagrams of the actual procedure. His staff is very efficient and sensitive to the weight issue. Ruth, Dr Meyers' nurse is very helpful in answering all questions and working with the insurance company. Along with the wls, he also offers and encourages aftercare and aftercare support.

I first talked with Dr. Meyers surgery consultant - Ruth (which also happens to be his wife). She was very helpful on the phone.

My husband and I met with Dr. Meyers and Ruth for over 2 hours. My first impression was that he was much younger than I expected (he is a retired military surgeon so I expected an old man ... not the case at all).

Since I have had previously had a VBG 8 yrs ago, I was not sure if I would even be an candidate for RNY. Dr. Meyers explained the entire procedure in terms both my husband and I could understand including the negatives. He was very straightforward, didn't pull any punches, but very pleasant.

Dr. Meyers reviewed my records, including recent Endoscope, CT scan and MRI. Using these reports, my complaints and pictures and talking with my PCP Dr. Meyers discovered the blockage. Within 4 days I received approval from my insurance company for the blockage repair. Dr. Meyers will be submitting the surgery request for the RNY this week.

His office staff is very nice and helpful. He and his staff emphasized aftercare including diet and exercise. He also highly recommended at least one support group for both me and my husband.

Overall, I am confident about Dr. Meyers ability as a surgeon and his follow up care.
