If you are looking for a surgeon please consider Dr. Scott. Dr. Scott is caring highly educated physican. His staff in both of his offices are also helpfull and caring.
I am six week post - op and have had a few complications. one overnight hospitalization for dehydration and constant nausea and vomiting. i can't blame Dr. Scott for the problems. i think everybody is different and so reacts differently. i just need to take one day at a time.

I have seen Dr. Scott 3 times now, and each time I see him I like him more. He is a very caring Dr. as is all of his staff. They are all very helpful and cheerful. You are not treated as second class citizen. It is always a pleasent experience when I have an appointment.

I had my pre-op appointment with Dr. Scott today July 22, 2003. I would recommend him and his staff to anybody that would ask me about them. The whole staff including the Psych. and the dietician treat you like they care about you. On this appointment, Dr. Scott layed out the risks of the surgery, he also asked if I had questions, and said if I have a question at anytime to just call him.

Those of you who are considering Dr. Scott-you would be in good hands with him. He's truly an excellent surgeon. He can be very strict about what he expects from his pre-surgical patients...but that is because he wants the best possible outcome. I had an open RNY in Jan. 03, and I'm doing extremely well. The whole clinic at St. Margarets has been very supportive. They've recently brought in an internist to see to the aftercare so Dr. Scott can concentrate on the surgeries....

I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Scott to anyone!

My first impression wasn't good. I started out with another doctor but he took a medical leave so Dr. Scott took my case. The first visit with him wasn't good, I argued with him about something he wanted me to have done that I didn't think needed to be done, an upper GI. YUCK!! I found out that he had most of his patients do that just as a precautionary measure and he was really looking out for my best intrest. The second visit was totally different. He really cares about the patient and does what is best for you. The office staff is wonderful. I feel that a couple of the nurses have treated me like a friend and really care about your wellbeing. One nurse, Karen, went above and beyond to help me through everything prior to surgery. What I liked least about the doc was his bedside manner, at first. After the first visit, he was different. Future patients should know that despite how he might come off at first, he really knows what he is doing. He takes his time to make sure that every detail, during surgery, is covered. He takes his time in closing the incision just to make sure everything is perfect. I don't think that he emphasizes aftercare as much as the nurses do. He does talk about it but I got most of my info from the nurses. The whole program is very structured, before and aftercare. Before surgery, Dr. Scott goes over everything and is willing to answer all questions. I would rate Dr. Scott as a great surgeon. Surgical Competence is better by far than bedside manner of course but I would have to say that bedside manner is the first impression that a person sees with a doctor.
