I really like Dr. Viglianco. He seems to care and explains things well. Other's have called him a big ole Teddy Bear and I quite agree. Just a nice man, and as far as I can tell.....an excellent surgeon.

Well meet Dr V. About 2 weeks ago for initial consultation. He was very informative (although I had already had a great deal of info from this wonderful web site). His staff also was very nice even if they did kind of forget I was in the waiting room for 30 minutes <grin>. Was a little disappointed when I called last Monday and my paperwork was still sitting in the office a week later. But was told it would go out this week. Of course I will call again Monday and be sure it is sent. All in all so far I have felt that the staff and Dr are going to be wonderful additions to my life and my new beginning.

I had a consultation with Dr. Viglianco on Friday February 16, 2001. He is a warm, compasionate, wonderful doctor. I have full confidence in his skills and I am anxiously awaiting insurance approval so that I can have the opportunity for him to give me a chance to live the rest of my life as a "normal" weight person. I highly recommend both the Bariatric Treatment Center and Dr. Viglianco. I would be glad to return e-mails to anyone with questions. I left the center later than planned because he takes time to answer all your questions thoroughly and genuinely cares about you. He is well worth waiting a little extra time for. The staff is very professional and wonderful - I left feeling very secure that I would get top notch care from a group that is dedicated to helping those of us with the disease of morbid obesity.

I met with Dr Viglianco on 1/12/01. I thought he was a very nice man and he answered all the questions I had about surgery. I work in a hospital as a secretary and I know doctors and how they can sometimes treat patients. I felt that he was very caring, understanding and patient.
I brought a friend with me (who is an icu nurse) and she was impressed with him also. She had been skeptical about the surgery until speaking to the doctor. As soon as we left she said,"I would go ahead and do the surgery".
This meant alot to me.
The office staff was wonderful also. They were so friendly and willing to answer any questions.
The only problem I had was that they scheduled to many people that day. My appt. was at 2:30 and I didn't get to see the Dr. until 7:00. That meant we didn't leave until 8:00. I had a 4 1/2 hour drive home. Not fun. I didn't get angry with the office staff. Sometimes those things just happen!

Dr. Viglianco was warm, caring, and very knowledgable for my initial consultation. My family lives in Florida, and I asked Dr. Vig if I could record our session. He had no problem with it. His office staff was wonderful. Evonne (who does all his clearances) kept me updated and laughing all the time. The staff was patient and willing to give me all the information that I needed. They were very knowledgable and since most of them have gone through the surgery they know how scared and nervous you are. Dr. Vig addressed all of my questions, and brought up a few I didn't know about. Thank goodness I chose him over another doctor that is closer.

He did my surgery on December 29 and I couldn't have ask for a better surgeon. He was very open and honest with me and my family.
My first impression of him was he was very professional. He answered all of my questions and then some. I was totally overwhelmed with the info. Even though I thought I had done a good job researching the surgery. His office staff was great. Everyone was so caring and considerate.
I will recommend him to others considering this surgery.

Dr. Viglianco was very quiet but Knowledgable. He answered all my questions and was thorough in his answers. I hope that if or should I say when I get a date that he will be ready for me.

He greatly emphasizes aftercare. He wants to know immediately if something is wrong. He let me know what the risks were. I feel that Dr. Viglianco's compentence and bedside manner will be great. He is down to earth, doesn't talk above your head and seems to be very caring.

He is a very compassionate, soft-spoken man with a sense of humor, but is very serious about his work---I asked him numerous questions prior to the surgery, including asking about deaths and complications and think he honestly answered them----he even hugged me on my follow-up visit at the office-------
his staff is courteous and the wait is minimal, the office is clean
I rate him as a great surgeon--am have had many---and a caring individual---which is very important to me
I had complications from the surgery and was re-admitted three days following my initial release---Dr. Viglianco was in the hospital doing surgeries that day and visited me 3 times and was very insistent that they find my problem--
Have no complaints yet or negative feelings about any of my experiences

Dr. Viglianco was very pleasant with us on my first visit and took the time to answer my many questions. He was patient with me, and treated me as a peer.

The office staff at BTC is wonderful. Many of them have had the surgery and that really helps.

I came prepared with a mile long list of question (I am a nursing student), and I felt comfortable with the answers I received.

My biggest ally and supporter through all of this has been Sue E. at the Bariatric Treatment Center in Ann Arbor. She has been so patient and has kept such a positive attitude, helping me through the process and dealing calmly with my crazy impatience. Sue, thank you for everthing, I love you, girl!!
