The whole process with Dr. Scott and his team has been extremely organized and easy. His coordinator, Ginger, set up all of my appointments for me. She walked me through the process with my insurance company. The nutritionist, Mary Beth, was extremely helpful. She walks you through your pre and post op diet in great detail. Overall I would give the program a rating of 20 on a 1 - 10 scale.

I originally thought he was too young to know what he was doing.

I did a background check and he came up as being very experienced.
Office staff were very nice.

He's very competent and thorough
Aftercare is very important to him.
He has a very good aftercare program including support group and nutritionist.
He told me what could go wrong in surgery but he makes you go for complete health check before he would do surgery.
He's a wonderful surgeon and I would have the surgery done again in a heartbeat if I had to.
He is a top-notch surgeon.
Dr. Scott has a wonderful bedside manner and he's surgically very competent.
I truly don't have anything bad to say about Dr. Scott. The only thing I am unhappy about is the length of time sitting in the waiting room.
His assistant, Ginger, is terrific too and calls you back right away if you have a question or problem.

Dr Scott held a information session which explained in detail what would happen and what to expect from him, the insurance company and the hospital staff. In some ways it was information overload at the time. But now I see it was all very useful. He expected total lifestyle change since the operation is a change of lifestyle. I had to quit smoking and join a gym before he would do the surgery. He provided me with a nutritionist and appointments with him and the nutritionist every 3 months for 2 years. I feel like he has held my hand the whole way. He provided a coordinator that was with me from the time I checked into the hospital until I left that stayed with me and kept me informed of what was going to happen every step of the way. I can still call on her any time for questions. I would say Dr Scott and his staff are the best in the business....but I am prejudice.

It says not to say everything positive. Well the only negative has been that waiting to see Dr Scott can take a few hours. But to get the best is worth the wait.

Dr. Scott and Ginger are wonderful. After completing my required pre-op testing, Ginger submitted my paperwork to my insurance company. I was approved the same day and had surgery the following week. Dr. Scott is very thorough and very concerned. I have no complaints.

Dr. Scott is a guardian angel. The first time I met him was when he himself did the information meeting and my wonderful husband and myself were very very very impressed. HE is a young Dr. but very educated and in the top of his league. I admire him more and more everytime I see him. His bed side manners are perfect and he really cares about his patients, not just to make a living. His office staff is nothing but very professional and I never had any problems with getting things done and turned in. They are great. In fact the nutritionalist and his assistant, moved from VA whe he did to make the move to his current practice. WOW we were all blessed. I would recommend driving 1,0000000 miles ot see him. He handles every situation with tact and is very kind and just wonderful. He is very educated on WLS and reallly stresses doing what he recommedns to be successful at this surgery, He was very thorough in his explanations in what to expect and the risks etc. If I could rate him I would give him a million plus percent. All I can say is that he is an all around wonderful surgeon and he is good in all areas. In fact 6 months after WLS, he performed my gallbladder surgery, which turned out well too. He is at Harbin CLinic General Surgery in ROme Ga.

My first impression about Dr. Scott was he was very caring and interested in hearing about you. The office staff was great. Ginger always calls you back when you call. Dr. Scott emphasizes after care, so you are sure of what you are getting into. He also works side by side with the nutritionist.

My first impression of Dr. Scott was when my Rheumatologist, Dr. Peller, told me not to "be alarmed" when I saw him because he looks so young. He was absolutely right. I thought he was probably younger than me! However, he has proven himself well enough to me. Apparently, according to his peers, he is some type of prodigy. My procedure went off without a hitch, and I was feeling like a million bucks later that afternoon. Now, I know that the morphine had something to do with that, but you just don't expect to feel good the day of surgery. I had expressed concerns about being nauseated after a previous surgery and told Dr. Scott about that. He made sure that all of the surgical staff was aware of this issue and I didn't experience one second of discomfort. Truthfully, I didn't even have to use that much pain medication while I was in the hospital, and I have only had two doses of pain medication since I came home (11 days ago). Dr. Scott only does the procedure (RNY) laparoscopically. My incisions were tiny, and by the time my bandages came off, the incisions were hardly noticable.

A note about Dr. Scott's staff. I LOVE THEM! (Ginger, if you ever read this, I love you! I couldn't have done this without your help, support, and understanding. You are my sanity!) Ginger is Dr. Scott's right-hand woman and will guide you through the insurance issues. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. I describe some of my insurance hurdles that Ginger and Dr. Scott took on for me below. The nutritionists, the bariatric coordinator, as well as other hospital staff that have been on this ride were wonderful! I wish that I could call them all by name and thank them, but there are too many!

I have no complaints about how any of this happened. No kidding! I prayed so hard for this to happen if it was God's will, and God answered my prayer. He is faithful and good. I have my suspicion that He was watching out for me all along, and that is how I ended up in Dr. Scott's care.
