He was very kind, friendly and informative. He seems to be very genuine. The office staff are all friendly and helpful. You will love him and his staff. He is very big on aftercare. He does have a structured before care and aftercare program. In his orientation class he went over every possible thing about the surgery and the out come. He also answered any questions that anyone had. During the consultation he said he was there to answer any additional question and was very concerned and kind. He has excellent bedside manners. Both surgical competence and bedside manners are great.

Dr. Scott is a wonderful surgeon, very professional and experienced. His office staff is caring and so great that he brought them with him from Virgina to Georgia!!!
Dr. Scott and his nurse, Ginger, have done a lot of these surgeries together and work well as a team. They know what information is needed and prepare the patient every step of the way for the procedure.
Dr. Soctt is TOTALLY into aftercare for his Bypass Surgery Patients. He tells you up front this is a life long committement and not just a quick cure for obesity. The risk and any alternatives are explained up front so that each patient can make an informed educated decision before they plan for surgery. I would rate Dr. Scott on a scale of 1 to 10 as a 10. He is the only physician I have ever been to that my husband and I both agree has no negatives about him. From his professional manner to his sense of humor he is a wonderful doctor.

My first impression of Dr. Scott was that he was a straight forward kind of doctor. In the information session that is held each month he goes through the entire process from paperwork to post-op and he answers any questions that you might have for him. Your first communication won't be with Dr. Scott, it will be with Ginger, his nurse. She is super busy so you have to leave messages, but she always returns your call and is sure to have an answer for your questions...it also helps that she is very nice and has had the surgery herself.

Dr. Scott's office is adapted to the needs of his obese patients. There are larger modeled chairs and tables as well as normal ones for your family or other support! His office is in with General Surgery in the Harbin Clinic, so there are other doctors and nurses, but all staff is very considerate and efficent in helping you.

The thing that I like best about Dr. Scott is that he takes time to actually talk to his patients. When I had my first pre-op appointment he took the time to sit down with me and go over my medical history, my history with obesity, my concerns and any questions that I had. When I left the appointment I felt prepaired and ready for the surgery. I had no questions, and if I had one pop up (which I did!) I could call Ginger or even hold out until the next visit. You will see him twice before your surgery.

Dr. Scott and Ginger really emphasize aftercare. You will see Dr. Scott two weeks, one month, three months, six months, and then one year and yearly post-op. He requires you to attend support group (held the first Monday of each month) at least 5 times. He also requires you to walk daily, but that is a gimme! You should be able to walk 2 miles after three months. Dr. Scott has worked out a program and a rate deal with the Harbin Clinic Vitality and Wellness center and you can get a great discount and the workout that will emphasize weight loss and muscle growth and less flabby skin.

Dr. Scott has a great surgical competence and an excellant bedside manner. You can truly tell that he cares for his patients. My only complaint (this is about a hospital NOT DR.SCOTT!) is that the nursing staff at Floyd Medical Center wasn't as considerate of the needs of their patients. I had a friend who had her surgery completed at Floyd and their lack of consideration for her and her family left something to be desired. I had my surgery at Redmond Regional Medical Center and their nursing staff is THE BEST EVER! Dondra is the case manager for the bariatric unit there and she is fantastic. She answers your questions and holds your hand, goes back to the operating waiting area with you and she then talks to your family. She leaves no stone unturned. She even calls you every week for four weeks post-op to check up on you.

Overall, Dr. Scott is fantastic. His care and compassion far out weight the other, MANY other, doctors that I sought out in the Atlanta area! He understands the needs and limitations of his patients and is considerate of them. So if you are in the Cartersville, Calhoun, Rome or Cedartown, Georgia area and you are condisering bariatric surgery then PLEASE contact Dr. Scott's office! He is great!!!!!

Dr.Scott was the presenter at the 2 hour WLS seminar. Dr. Scott and his staff are very nice and caring toward the patients. I was impressed when Dr.Scott attended the peer support group and answered questions.

Dr.Scott recommends a 18 week exercise program for preop and postop patient to get his patients ready for the WLS.

Dr. Scott is a very kind and knowledgable doctor. I talked with Dr. Scott about being a Jehovah Witness and not taking any blood products if needed during the surgery. Dr. Scott stated that he would not give me any blood thinners and offered 2 types of blood building products (Hespan or Albulim) that could be used during my surgery.

Dr. Scott asked me to research the 2 drugs and let him know which one I wanted to use during the surgery. I chose Hespan and Dr. Scott honered my choice. Hespan was used to build the volume of my blood and I had very little blood lose during the surgery.
Dr. Scott had great bedside manner as he talked with my husband and I.

Dr.Scott came to my room the day of release from hospital and explained the importance of taking a multivitamin 2x a day and 1000mcg of B-12 1 x a week. Also to follow the eating plan of small meals 4 to 6 x a day.Dr. Scott requires that his patients continue to exercise daily and attend monthly support meetings of peers. Also to follow up with him and nutritionist as scheduled.

For new patients of Dr. Scott, I would recommend to follow all of his orders. I joined the recommended exercise program and started the vitamins 18 weeks before surgery and I had no complications with the surgery.

Dr. Scott gets high marks for the fine care I received from him. I rate him-EXCELLENT!

Dr. Scott was very professional, he really understands how you feel. He has everyones health in his hands and he knows that. Turely honest with us about risks and lets you know that this is just a tool. You do have to do some work along with it. Dr. Scott has the program all packaged up for you. He lets you know about excersise and your eating habits. He will also tell you if you do not follow them then this surgery is not right for you. He does explain that God created us and that he is changing a part of you. He lets you know that not all surgeries are great and that it is a serious surgery. I would suggest him to anyone. He is very personalbe and very nice on making sure you feel good about yourself.

I was very impressed with the process that Dr. Scott required patients to go thru before being seen as a patient. The process was to insure that potential patients were serious about their decison to have the surgery and their willingness to sacrifice. My impression remains the same,I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Scott. I am very satisfied with Dr. Scott and glad that I chose him to perform my surgery. He requires his patients report to his assistant until they are scheduled for their first appointment. Ginger, his assistant, is very helpful in the whole process. Dr. Scott and his assistant continues to stress the importance of post surgery care, not only short term but long term and life long. The aftercare program is great, his office staff really cares about their patients progress and success. Dr. Scott did not sugarcoat the risk involved,he was very clear in sharing the risk factors involved with having the surgery. I feel that Dr. Scott exhibits all the qualities that you would want your surgeon to have, bedside manners, surgical compentence, sincere concern for his patient and honesty.

I was extremely pleased to find that Dr. Scott attended the information session and spent hours answering our questions and explaining what happens, to our group. He's always been very personable and open. His staff has always been extremely pleasant and more than willing to help. The only thing I can think to say that I didn't like, is that he's so young... lol.. I think I'd rather have some old fogie seeing me in all my glorious obesity on that operating table. He is extremely knowledgeable it seems, and places a HUGE emphasis on aftercare. So far, I think he's great.

very impressed
my respect for him grew
He has a very caring professional staff
i can't think of anything i did not like. I had a hard time at first getting my doctors office and Dr. Scotts office to coordinate on my insurance.
I highly recommend Dr. Scott to anyone in the north ga area that is considering bariatric surgery. I had some complications after surgery. I had infection. Dr. Scott was very concerned about me and went out of his way to make sure I was okay. He did emergency surgery for infection . He was not sure what was wrong with me because the tests were all showing nothing wrong. He knew that something was wrong. He did not take any chances. He went ahead and
did surgery on me again. He was glad he did because he said I would not have gotten any better if he had not gone ahead and did surgery again

Dr. Scott is very much into after care. He makes all patients visit a nutritionist each time he sees us. He had me enroll in exercise program which is structured for the surgery. He says he will be with me the rest of my life.

I would rate him on a scale of 1-10 a number 9.

His surgical competence is superb, but he has a good bedside manneralso, a little bit shy

This is just my personal opinion and experience with Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott was wonderful from the beginnig. I first met him in the seminar he holds for those interested in the surgery. He took his time, spoke only positive comments about those performing the procedure in Georgia. Had good things to say about both hospital in the area. His staff has been so helpful from my first contact with them until now. Ginger is Great. I usually email her and within 24 hours she has responded. They have been honest and straight forward the entire process. I believe I am in the best possible hands for me to have this surgery.
