Dr. Kole was very down to earth but professonal. I liked him immediatly. I really like the fact that he has so much trauma care with Gastric Bypass Patients. He answered all questions and did not make you feel like you were being rushed. Thourally explained the surgery to the group and answered all questions. His presentations of the surgery and obesity was very extensive. All of his staff and the CORI staff in general are so sweet and nice. AFter surgery he promptly came out and spoke with family to tell them how it went and answered all questions. Cori staff has been great answering my calls when I call or returning them quickly.

UPDATE 04/27/04
I can not say enough good things about CORI center and Dr. Kole. First thing is after dealing with them now for 6.5 months, i have NEVER had a bad episode with this staff. Dr. Kole is so awsome, and is willing to answer all questions and take his time till you understand the answer fully, he never makes me feel rushed. Also his staff, Jenn and Chuckie, are great too, they answer any questions you call and ask, useally right then and there, you dont get voicemail. I would recomend them to anyone.

I really liked Dr Kole. He was willing to answer any questions I had and answered some I didn't have since I couldn't think of any to ask. I was already decided I would have this surgery come hell or high water. The office staff was very nice but forgot to tell me in advance that there was now a $150.00 program fee that included a binder, nutritionist visits and some samples. When I first started this process my surgeon was Dr Sapala, any I really really liked him but he is in New York to open a clinic for New York fat people. I don't hate them though for taking the best doctor away. I guess they deserve a clinic too.

I met Dr. Kole for the first time at a CORI seminar at Garden City Hospital. He was relaxed in his presentation to us, making us at ease. He was more than willing to answer all of our questions. He never made us feel like he was "selling" the surgery, he was just educating us on the procedure and all of its aspects, both positive and negative. After the seminar was over, he spent an extra hour or more answering the individual questions that some of us had for him. He is a good listener, and is immediately comfortable to talk to.

I have since had my group and individual consultation with him and have scheduled my surgery with him. He has gone over every possible complication that we can have. He presented them in the group consultation. He and the whole group have a specific aftercare program, and everything I am possibly going to need is in the binder that goes with my program.

As for anything else, I will have to address that after I have my surgery!

Dr Kole will be my surgeon now since Dr Sapala is leaving for New York for three months. I feel confident having Dr Kole perform my surgery after reading all the positive comments his patients have written and reading the information on his back ground in surgery.

There is moderate emphasis on aftercare.

Dr. Kole was very much at ease with the gathered people. He spoke for about an hour then seen each of us individually. I felt very confident and comfortable. Office staff is very nice but unorganized at times. He is a younger looking man but has some very impressive credentials. After care is very important and he stressed that everyone does not recover in the same way. CORI provided me with extensive aftercare information. Even recipes. He was very open about the risks involved and that it was a life altering event. Forever. I would give him a ten.

I was at first a little shocked how young he is.. and a little disappointed because I had originally wanted Dr. Wood. During the "Class" at CORI center I changed my mind. I DO like him and I DO trust him. He spoke of all his trauma training etc.. and it really made me more comfortable. He took his time talking to me, and I really think he would still be standing there listening to me if I wouldn't have run out of questions! Also.. I really wanted Dr. Wood or Dr. Sapala because of all the research I have done. And because I trusted them to do my surgery originally.. I TRUST them to have an excellent surgeon such as Dr. Kole on their team. They wouldn't just hire some bum off the street would they?? I haven't found anything negative, thus far, and I will keep you informed.
