Linda Johnson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Johnson is just wonderful. I was very impressed with her. She is very upfront with you and lets you know that it is a very difficult surgery and that the support of your family is vital to your recovery process. She also stressed the importance of follow-up, diet and exercise.
She gave me a handbook full of information and also gave me a support person's name that has been thru the surgery.
The thing that she really has to know is that you're committed to following thru on every aspect of this new chapter in your life and that you know you have to do your part with following instructions and diet, and of course...excersise.
Dr. Johnson's staff is wonderful. They have all been so encouraging and supportive. They always have a smile and a word of support and always have said, "if you have any questions or concerns dont hesitate to call."

I was seen by Dr. Johnson for another problem, but while I was there I talked with her about WLS. She was very supportive and told me that I had to be sure this is what I wanted. She told me it is a very tough surgery and that she wanted to strees the importance of that. I told her I was sure and she gave me handouts about WLS.
I see her for my surgery consult on August 9, 2001.
She requires that your spouse come with you so she can explain it to both of you and to know that he/she is supportive of the surgery.
9-21-01 ( I know this probably is not my surgeons fault but it is aggravating)
I took my appeal packet to be sent in with her recommendation letter on 9-4-01 and They have still not sent anything in to HCO for approval. I can't get the insurance lady at the clinic to call me back to give me any information.

I got to meet Dr. Linda Johnson 4/04/01. I thought she was very good. She makes sure that this surgery is what you really need. She also makes your spouse come with you and talks to both of you together to make sure he understands what is going on. I really liked that. The office staff was very nice and helped us with everything. Dr. Linda Johnson is a very down to earth country Dr. and I really liked that side of her. She is very straight forward about things and does not try to hide anything. She explains the risks and after care program very well.

She is very straitforward. She is very skilled. She cares about her patients and makes certain that her staff feels the same. She is very careful and makes certain that you are healing well before she progresses in removing tubes and such. She wants her patients to have good success. I like that she cared about how I was doing on a daily basis. She emphasized exercise and drinking water all day long to decrease the opportunity for dehydration. She sent in the hospital dietician to talk about the aftercare eating program. I think that is the 'weakest' part of her program. She should have more practical and realistic food lists. She was very straitforward in dealing with the risks of surgery and the chances for weight loss success. I would rate her very skillful and a good surgeon. As previously stated, she's straitforward and won't pull any punches, but, thats okay. Its not a time to be babied. It's a time to realize that this is a big opportunity to lose the weight that you've been wanting to lose.
