My first impression of Dr. Taylor was a good one, he's quite handsome. I was nervous but when I started talking to him and I saw he was really listening I was very happy. Dr. Taylor is a great surgeon he has performed other surgeries on me and I was pleased everytime. He is a competent, educated, caring, compassionate surgeon as well as a human being and I am thankful for everything he has done for me. I wouldn't change anything. Dr. Taylor gave me a second chance at a healthy longer life with the gastric bypass. He is truly as God send.

First impression was the MD was very young. but his bedside mannor immediately put myself and my husband at ease as he took the time to answer many questions and give us information of what to expect following surgery.
Office staff (front desk) need a little training in making eye contact and what customer service means!
Surgical unit staff were GREAT!!
Dr. Tayulor gives great handouts for aftercare and follows you ery closely during your entire hospital stay.
I am glad to have had him as my surgeon...as to what is better bedside or surgical comptancy they are both fantastic.

Surgery was 12/11/02 -
Liked Dr Taylor from the 1st meeting. Staff at the Surgery Clinic are great. Have heard good things about Womack hospital and knew they will take care of me (and they did).
I have not had a chance to go to support group but have talked to a couple people who go. My psychological evaluation was 12/5/02 and it went great.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr Taylor. Today was my after surgery visit. He gave several ways to contact him including email. He told me not to worry about appointments, if I needed to see him give him a call or email and he will find a way.

He is a very caring, compassionate person and a dedicated surgeon.

My impression of him has remained the same.

I am very disappointed in his office receptionist/gatekeeper and will be filing a formal complaint against her.

If you can get to him he will do everything in his pwoer to take good care of you.

He does his best with aftercare, but the military system does present its own unique problems/challenges as far as access to our doctors.

There is not a well structured aftercare program and the above mentioned receptionist/gatekeeper makes it even more challenging.

Dr. Taylor was very forthright in addressing the risks of surgery and the possible surgical complications.

His surgical competence and bedside manner are both wornderful!

I was very impressed when I met Dr. Taylor. He was so nice and listened to everything I had to say. He made me feel very comfortable. He has kept in contact with me via email when ever I have had a question. I don't think I could ask for a better Dr.

4/24/2002--I have only met with Dr. Taylor once, but so far, I think he is great. I went into his office KNOWING that as a military doc, he was going to expect me to beg, plead, and jump through hoops and then I would be told that I had to have numerous appointments. NOT SO! He quickly measured me, quizzed me to see how much I already knew about the Open R-N-Y (he won't do lapro at all yet), and told me I was a prefect candidate. His office staff was just what you would expect from the military (if you are military, you know what I mean). He was careful to make sure that I have a backup plan as far as family or friends to help me with my kids after surgery if my hubby is away (which he will be). He seemed a bit rushed (again--just like all military docs), so we didn't have much time to discuss the risks, etc. He told me whom to call to set up my next evals, and I have already done that. I will post more about him when I see him again next month!!!
