Dr Fisher was very friendly and really seem to know what he was taking about. He answered most of my questions before I had a chance to ask them. And then also answered the questions my boyfriend asked (even when he asked them more than once).
The only thing I didn't like too much was that he spoke really fast and you really had to listen to keep up with him.

My appointment to get my date scheduled just reaffirmed how glad I am to have Dr. Fisher as my surgeon! I had my list of (more) questions ready and he had no problem answering them, and he really helped my Mom become more comfortable with the idea of me "going under the knife"
Anyone in Colorado Springs (or even not in the Springs) I would really recommend Dr Fisher!

Dr. Fisher was very nice and took his time to explain all of the in's and out's about the procedure. I liked that I did not feel rushed by him. He took the time to explain things in depth. He did talk a little fast but anytime I didn't understand something I just asked him to repeat himself. His practice does require both pysch and nutrition appt prior to the procedure. He also explained that aftercare will be on-going as long as I want. His assistant Barb was also very nice. She explained the whole process with the insurance company and answered numerous questions I had. My overall opinion was very good and I would recommend him thus far. I did notice that waiting room was not big people friendly...there was only one place for an obese person to sit (a couch)all of the chairs had arms that would have made it uncomfortable. Just an observation.

I met Dr. Fisher and was a bit surprised that he is so young. He was very nice, made me comfortable(so many doctors are uptight) and explained everything I wanted to know.

Dr. Fisher is a wonderful surgeon who has great knowledge about RNY. He does both lap and open procedures. He explained to me that I was not a candidate for lap so that I knew what to expect. He is very patient and takes the time to talk about any and all concerns that you have. He has a very positive attitude and treats his patients with respect and kindness. I am most confident that he will help me through my surgery and be there for me post-op. He definately believes in follow-up aftercare which I am pleased to know.

My first impression of Dr. Fisher is that he's a very personable guy. He was very easy to talk to and explained everything from the procedure to aftercare to possible complications very thoroughly. The office staff is all very friendly and helpful. One of the things I like best about the Colorado Surgical Associates is that they really emphasize aftercare. I will be seeing Dr. Fisher at least 6 times throughout the 1st year, the nutritionalist 7 times and an exercise psysiologist once. I also have use of the gym at the wellness center for a year. Dr Fisher was very straight forward in addressing that not every surgery goes perfectly and not every patient has success. I'm very pleased that he will be performing my surgery. I am completely at ease with him and have total confidence in he and his staff.

I had my consultation with Dr. Fisher 9/24/02. I liked him very much. He seems very competent and made me feel VERY comfortable. His office staff, especially Barb, has been wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Fisher seems to be very knowledgable about the RNY. He is a nice man and he explained the surgery so I could understand what he was saying. My surgery is set for June 19, 2002 and it is so hard to wait for the days to go by. I am so excited and anxious to be thin for once in my life. I have friends that have had the surgery and they have all said they would do it again.

Dr. Fisher is the nicest man I have ever met. He puts you at ease with just his presence, and then his knowledge of the surgery tops it off, he was very very honest. (oh yeah by the way he is gorgeous!!) He let me know all about the risks of surgery and that I would probably wish that I would die the first 48 hours after the surgery because of how uncomfortable I will be. The office staff never made me feel uncomfortable they were very sensitive to my concerns and needs. The procedure incorporates a yar long transition process including a personal nutritionist and a personal trainer.
It is all about your commitment and motivation to lose the weight.

The office staff, especially his nurse Barb, are very helpful. There have been a few times that I've called the office (for non emergency questions) and they didn't return my call before I called again a day or two later. But the one time I called with a "I think my incision might be infected" Barb was on the phone with me in a brief moment and they got me in the next morning.

I met him only 3 times pre-op.. once during the consult.. once to review the psych and dietician consults/test results.. and the day before the surgery.

He (actually the entire office of surgeons) requires a psych and dietician consult. My insurance didn't require it... nor would they pay for it. The office made the appointments for me... and I had to pay the $517 in cash during the first consult.

I only had to wait about 3 weeks after I called for a consult. After that I had to wait about 3 weeks for my dietician/psych consults. Another two weeks I was in reviewing those. 3 weeks later I had surgery. Not too bad.

Dr. Fisher emphasized that this is a tool, not an cure. He addressed all of my concerns.. he fully answered all of my questions. I felt completely confident in his competency.

His aftercare program seems to be more focused on the dietician than on his instruction. Sometimes his opinion varies from her's though.

They gave me a 3 ring binder full of information about the surgery, pre-op stuff, post op, nutrician, exercise, Q&A about sex, pregnancy.. a sample diet. It was/is very helpful... I refer to it daily.

I would highly recommend Dr. Scott Fisher to anyone. As a matter of fact, my own mother is considering the surgery and if she has a consult I'll be sure it will be with him.

I had to switch surgeons because Dr. O'Rourke doesn't do laproscopic anymore. Now I have Dr. Fisher. I met with him today.

1st impression:He's very TALL! He answered every question with ease and great detail. We talked about the "bad things" first. What could go wrong and why. He was very good at addressing each of my questions even if they were odd. He spent over 40 mins with me! He would have spent more if I needed it and had more questions. I liked that!

He could use a little more personality. I did get him to laugh a couple times but he's very serious.

I'll write more after I've had the surgery. Hard to get it all after only one visit.
