I can't thank Dr. Katsis enough, he took me as a patient when I was fighting for my life from complications from another doctor. He has taken great care of me and together I am getting healthy. Dr. Katsis is a good christian man and will take all the time you need as a patient. No rush, no fuss, and I feel completely safe in his care. We have been working together since March 2010 and getting better every day. Thank God I was referred to him (by the CEO of a hospital) and he took me as a patient.

Really like Dr. Katsis, was originally going to have Dr. Gorospe, but then the hospital he does surgery at is not covered by Aetna, so switched and I have to say he is really great! Was very patient and answered all my questions.

Nothing negative at this point.

My first impression was that he was very well informed and he did a two hour education meeting. The meeting was done just after a support group meeting , that way we pre op people could listen and ask questions of the post op.
My impression now is that he is a very caring person. He is very sensitive to the emotions and feelings of his patients. He has an incredible staff, they were there before the surgery to help with everything. It was very comforting and calming to see Stacy in the office every trip and then the last person I saw in the O R was Stacy, a wonderful familiar face. The staff and nurses have never failed to returns my calls, and they respond quickly and not several days later.
It is hard to say what I like least about him. I feel as though I owe him for my new extended life. The only thing I can find at all not to like is the fact that he is a trauma surgeion as well and sometimes (twice to be exact ) I have had to wait because of an emergency. But were I to have an emergency and require surgery I wouldnt want any other surgeon than him to perform it.

Future patients should know that he is doing more and more of these , and he is busier than he use to be , but I cant see any change in the quality of care. Just a fuller office and little longer waiting period.

Dr.Katsis and his staff are very particular about your post op care. I was in the hospital for 7 days . I had to see a dietician and the nursing staff frequently for the first 4 - 6 months.

He has a well structured aftercare and you can call any time and expect a prompt response.

I am sure that there were things that could have been better explained, but I have had incredible success. It is difficult for me to do anything other than sing praises for him and his nursing staff.

I did have some respiratory complications afer the surgery and I was in recovery for 24 hours and I never understood why I was in there for that long. Perhaps that is standard and if so I would have liked to known that. I guess the only thing that I have to say negative about any of the whole procedure is when you ask why did this happen the response that is frequently given is "It varies with each individual".

His over all rating along with his office and nursing staff is above and beyond excellence.

Dr. Steven Katsis is a very talented sugeon, and his bedside behavior is caring and concerned ( geniune concern ) and that is a combination that is needed and so very much appreciated , during a trying and frightening time in one's life.

I do realize that this has very few negative comments but the doctor and staff work very hard and go to seminars to insure that the bariatric surgery and after care is safe informative and complete to one's physical, mental, and emotional well being.

Dr. Katsis did a great job with my VSG. In and out in about 90 minutes. No complications. In our first visit he spent approximately sixty minutes answering questions that my husband and I had - that's a LONG time. I will say, he has a tendency to run behind - I've waited 1.5 hours on two occasions for office visits and he was an hour late to my surgery. With regard to the office visits, his staff schedules multiple people at the same time - no idea why. As for the surgery, I don't hold that against him - I'm sure he wasn't sitting around somewhere playing Sudoku. The only reason I mention it is so anyone contemplating using him will be prepared to send some time sitting in waiting rooms. Good bedside manner, but not a lot of chatting. I would recommend.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Katsis. He was so nice to deal with, always talked to me... not over the top of my head or at me. He listens to what you say and really cares. I would recommend him to any family or friends without any reservations. Thank you Dr. Katsis... you have made my journey a pleasant one!

My first impression of Dr. Katsis was that he was a knowledgeable, compassionate Christian man who cared deeply about the health and wellbeing of his patients. I also felt that he had high expectations not only of himself and his staff but also of his patients and their compliance to his treatment plan. I connected with Dr. Katsis on the basis of our shared faith. I've had absolutely no complaints about my pre or post op treatment from the doctor or his staff everyone has been quite responsive and helpful. I give Dr. Katsis and the staff of Surgical Associates in Tulsa, OK 5 stars out of 5 stars.

My first impression of Dr. Katsis was that he was a man of God. He spoke terms that were easy to understand. My current impression of Dr. Katsis continues to be the same. I would recommend Dr. Katsis to anyone interested in gastric banding.

I was extremely comfortable with my choice of surgeon. I had previously worked three years with him while nursing at one of the major Tulsa hospitals. Not only does he still have that great caring personality but also is ready to answer any and all questions you may have. My whole experience with Dr. Katsis, Dr. Kirk, the nurses, techs and admission staff was awesome. They all went above and beyond in this journey of mine. I would readily recommend Dr. Katsis to anyone beginning this journey. He has literally saved my life.

I had hear many wonderful things about Dr. Katsis before I decided to have WLS. I knew he would be my surgeon once I decided to have surgery. Once meeting him, he lived up to his reputation. He is a kind considerate man. He is also a strong Christian, which is important to me. When I went for my consulatation with him, he explained everything clearly and answered all my and my husband's questions. His staff is wonderful and is alway willing to help. I think his surgical competence and bedside manner are wonderful. I ended up back in the hospital 4 days after surgery with an incisional hernia and Dr. Katsis had me in surgery that very day. Through no fault of his, my abdominal wall tore right past the staple line and small bowel was allowed to sneak through. He explained everything to me very clearly and even drew pictures! I am greatful to Dr. Katsis for giving me a new life!
