Dr. Duperier agreed to see my after my original MD was unavailable. (Surgery needs to be done prior to the first of the year)Dr. Duperier is a very wise, straight forward physician with a great yet very serious demeanor.I was very comfortable with him, he gave me straight answers, no beating around the bush. Office staff was great (Pricilla,Yolanda & Claudia mainly) This group of doctors have a great program, before, during and after. When I had the VBG done in 1996 I did not have the education I got during this process.( and by no means I am putting down my first surgion, he was/is great) I have full faith in this group to help me. Dr. D saw me and now within two weeks I am set for surgery on 12/13/04 --- will post more then.

when i attended my first meeting, i was still not sure who my sergeon was going to be. i heard such wonderful things about Dr. Pilcher but he's waiting list was over 3 years . i had a one on one conversation with Dr. Duperier after the meeting and decided right away that he would be my surgeon. i saw him 2 other times before my surgery and i noticed right away that he wasn't the same person i was talking to when we first met. i still kept him because his waiting list wasn't as long and i had already gotten approved under his name. aside from the worst pain imaginable, my surgery went GREAT to this day 10 months later. when i went in for my 3 and 6 mth post op appt. he was too busy to see me which brought me litterally to tears. i took my 1 year old daughter with me so after waiting for hours chasing her around and not being able to see him at all was horrible for me. i have tried to contact him several times to either ask questions or find out my lab results and in 10 months he's only answered me once. he never returns my calls though the nurses swear he'll call me back within 5 min. since i don't have any madical problems ( XXXXX fingers cross ) it doesn't bother me as much. i know though that if he was more involve in my after care that i wouldn't be misbehaving on my diet as much as i do. i'm not blaming but since i'm the kind of person who needs recognition, it does affect my decisions.
he abviously did a remarkable job on my surgery which is what counts so i do recommend him if you're in the mood to beg (which you shouldn't have to ) for the aftercare attention.

First one-on-one meeting was 8/12/04. Dr Duperier seemed likeable and matter-of-fact. The clinic is very busy, but professional and courteous. Each person we interacted with answered our questions without making us feel foolish for asking. One of the first things the clinic staff told us was that we were now 'part of the family' and that aftercare was very important. Part of the prelim appointment is a review of the seminar material which includes information on the risks of surgery, benefits, new eating habits, and importance of lifetime follow-up due to changes in absorption of vitamins and minerals. The staff seemed to truly care about us (my husband went with me to ask questons) and the other patients we saw there at the clinic.

Will convey more info with additional visits and surgery.

Dr. Duperier is great. He seemed genuinely concerned about my thoughts and cares. He didn't make me feel like just another paycheck. His staff was efficient and helpful to me. Dr. Duperier is firm in his belief of aftercare and provides many options within his practice. He is upfront with the risks, without scaring the pants off of you. He's a 10 in all areas.

Dr. Duperier is one of the most wonderful people I've come into contact with, especially as a 13 year veteran of ICU nursing. I've dealt with many physicians before both as patient, nurse, and family of patient. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He appears very confident and knowledgeable. He is very understanding and he treats the nurses as professionals. This tells me he is the ultimate professional himself. I would recommend him to anyone, anyplace, anytime. When I first met him he appeared to be a little standoffish, but as I worked with him more, I found him to be warm and caring.

Dr. D is a great doctor....he was always up front and honest and nice. He always tried to answer questions and if he didnt have the answers, he found someone who did. The best thing about him is, that he will see you before you are approved...and this saves a lot of time.

The office staff were nice....overworked...but nice...poor Yolanda...people dont know what she goes through...and some people say she is rude...but she isnt.

Both his bedside manner and surgical competence is A++++++++
He is a great person and doctor and friend.

He remembers everyone's name too!!!!

Met Dr. Duperior via e-mail. Requested his assistance in getting an appointment. My first meeting with Dr.D was positive. He came across as both friendly and professional. His office staff was very good with the exception of the person responsible for scheduling. She was not very forth coming or responsive to my inquiries. The Dr. listened to my issues and was responsive to my specific needs. It is now 3wks. after surgery and am do to see him in a couple of days. He belongs to a group of bariatric surgeons and they work together to provide service and support. They provide great info on their web-site. This is followed with an informative seminar (to include handouts). They then give you a test on the information they provide to insure you are "fully" aware of the issues. Dr. Duperior is certainly a cut above, and he is supported by a large group of various competant and informed medical professionals. The above comments are my personal "opinions" and not meant to convey what others may or may not expect.

I attended the semiar that this group requires all of their potential patients to attend and Dr. Duperier was one of the speakers. He is very confident (aren't all surgeons? lol) but I have the utmost respect for this group. They have a great group and the most intensive preop and postop follow up's I know of from any group of surgeons who do this surgery. Their current wait time is months to years. They require you to attend a seminar where the benefits, the risks, the changes in your life and the differences in surgeries are explained. Then they have a question and answer session. This seminar is put on by the doctors themselves. They take great care in post-op follow ups and do not charge until after 90 days post op for any copays or visit fees. I have not had a one on one with Dr. D, but I will post after I do. =) **3/2/03** I met with Dr. Duperier last Thursday and I think he is wonderful. He's very caring and has an excellent resume! If anyone is interested in having surgery with this group, or you just want a lot of great information to read, visit thier website at sabariatrics.com.

Today I met Dr. Duperier for the first time and I really liked him alot. He was really upfront and honest with me about my weight and the fact that if I didn't get this weight off soon. Death would be eminent. The Dr's staff are absolutely wonderful and I really felt taken care of. Dr. Duperier is really up to date on doing the laproscopic surgery and even said that I maight actually be able to do that than an open roux-n-y.
