Dr P was confident, enthusiastic, patient, and fluid in his explanations of the risks and rewards of RNY surgery. His professionalism--along with his staff, set me at ease.

DR Prewitt is a very understanding surgeon.
He and his staff are wounderful to work with and very attentive to their patients. I have had some trouble with my insurance and they have helped me every step of the way. I ,also , work at the hospital - on the surgical floor- that Dr. Prewitt does the surgery at and have been able to witness fiest hand how he is with his patients. This is a very caring man with wonderful surgical skills. I would recomend him in a heart beat!

I loved him. He was very sensitive, caring, and interested in me.

Dr.Prewitt let me expl.what I knew about the surgery, why I wanted to have it; did I know people who have had surgery: successful or not. THEN, he expl.the surgery, diagram, answered any questions and concerns I had. Our consult was about 1.5 hours. He did not rush me, very professional. We (my husband, who had concerns & I went to a support group meeting and his questions were answered and so were mine. I am doing it!

Staff very professional and his nurse, Ellen, was outstanding, caring, told me to call anytime.

I liked everything about doctor, nurse & staff.

Future patients should know that he is the best doctor/surgeon I have ever met. He was a thoracic surgeon, then vascular and now he is working with bariatric patients. When I was in the hospital he gave me one on one. Answered all my questions post op.

Aftercare is very important. He has seen me in his office approx. 5-6 times since surgery. I will see him again in May.

Yes, aftercare plan is to take your protein, water (fluids), eat small meals - chewing your food very well, take vitamins and exercise. He had me see a physical therapist when I was about 7 weeks post op re: exercise I can do.

In our first consult and the pre-op visit, he stressed and expl.the statistics and possible complications that can occur. To be ready to go back to surgery if needed.
Blood clots is the #1 killer for this surgery or actual any surgery.

I would rate him the best of the best!!!number one in my book.

He is a great surgeon and his bedside manner is like no other of my doctors. He takes time with you, expl.everything. Never makes you feel like he is in a hurry and I know he is a busy guy.
