Topic: Below 200
I finaly made it below 200lbs I never thought I would get there, especially with the recent stall. I almost wanted to cry when I saw my scale on Sunday. This is such a big milestone for me, second only to losing my first 100lbs. I just have to share my happiness. Jenn 352-197.6-160

boy can I feel ya. I stalled at 205 for over a month. As of today I am down to 197.6 and have gotten there in just the last week. I think at somepoint our bodies take a break and work on building muscle not losing fat. In that month I lost a clothing size, so changes were happening, just not in the pounds. You will be fine, have you tried the platue breaker diet? That does help. Jenn 352-197.6-160

Topic: RE: Anyone else?
Sounds like we all have the same story ... surgeon said weight loss occurs in the first 12 -18 months after surgery ... we STILL have 6mos of productive weight loss. I've lost the same 3-5 lbs as well. I have my TT this friday and doc says it should take off 10-12more pounds if that proves true ... anyone have a testimony?? then I'll be happy and done. It will put me at 102 loss - exactly what I was over weight as. So the rest would be unexpected. Remember - continue doing the right stuff!

Topic: RE: plastic surgery - painful????
I'm having my tummy tuck Feb 17 this friday and my surgeon said to be prepared that it is more painful than the open rny. He said the surgery will take longer and the open rny as well. The recovery time is about the same however. I did not have much pain with wls, so I"m hopeful that TT will be similar. March 6 is around the corner! God Bless.

Hi Nicole! I had surgery 7 days before you did, which makes me 13 months post-op also. As I mentioned in my previous post to you, I have also had a stall since December, 2005. I still have 10 pounds from my surgeon's goal and 20 pounds from my own goal. As I mentioned earlier, I just saw my surgeon on Saturday, and he told me that he thought I did really well. All of my previous health problems are gone, which he feels is the important factor. My plastic surgeon told me that I could exercise for the next 5 years and I still would not lose the extra loose skin as a result from the weight loss. I have lost 115 pounds and am only 5 feet tall. He told me that by having the abdominoplasty, I should lose approximately 10+ more pounds. As long as you are following the diet, getting in your protein and supplements and exercising, I'm sure that you will continue to lose the weight. You will probably find it will be much slower than in the first 10-12 months. You might want to have a talk with your surgeon about your concerns. Have you had your one year post-op checkup yet? My surgeon feels that my surgery was a success and is confident as long as I continue to exercise and eat as I have been, that I may lose a few more pounds. He felt that the main thing was that I did not gain any weight. He indicated that would be a sign of possibly gaining back the weight that was loss. In that event, I guess the WLS would be considered a "failure". You sound like you are on track. May I ask how tall you are? My surgeon told me that short people for some reason have a lower metabolism than tall people. I'm only 5 feet tall, so he mentioned that many times short people like me may not lose as much weight as someone who is ie: 5'7"+. Hope this helps! Have a wonderful week! Aloha, Pat 261/148/125 I'm only 5 feet tall

Thanks for the replies. I did not realize my profile was completely missing!! I have it up now. Feb. 17th will mark 13 months post-op, and have 27 lbs to go to hit doc's goal, and 37 lbs to hit my personal goal.

Hi Nicole! I read your post and looked at your profile. Have you had WLS yet? Your profile does not show your surgery date. If you haven't had surgery yet, I would not even worry about your stall. I'm not sure if your profile has not been updated or if you have not had surgery yet. Please clarify. You may not have anything to worry about. If you have had surgery, I have not lost anything since December. I just saw my surgeon today for my one year checkup. He told me that after 12-14 months after surgery it becomes very hard to lose any further weight. I'm having a TT on March 6, 2006 and I hope I lose another 15 pounds. Hope this helps!! Aloha, Pat 261/148/125
