Question of the weekend: After my workout I started thinking about news things I am doing things for myself and wanted to share and ask what your new rituals are.... I am getting into body lotion. Especially the firming cremes on my under arms and thighs. Jergans' is nice, I feel a difference. This is something I thought of before but never got around to doing it. I hope it makes a difference on my incredible shrinking skin. I'll also admit that I love nice hands and I get manicures every week. Today I also had a pedicure. I've always found the money to do this, its just my thing. So they look really pretty right now as I type. What new ways are you pampering yourself? ~Tiffany

I love Bath & Body works but quit buying it. I started buying it again Friday and I'm taking time out of everyday to take a hot bubble bath and then use the body lotion. The tub has gotten bigger these past few weeks. Or maybe I'm getting smaller. I LOVE IT!!!!! I'm also going to start getting my nails done again very soon. I think I deserve it! Kay

Hi Tiffany, I bought new underwear today, how's that for a special treat?!!? Next Saturday I am going to get a massage (if I can get an appointment) I would love to do the whole spa for a weekend - massage, mani, pedi, facial, hydro bath, body scrub, body wrap, scalp treatment ... doesn't that sound divine??? I just need an extra 5 or 6 thousand dollars as I would really like to have it done at the Grand Wailea in Maui. My "extra" $$$ is going to buy my daughter a swingset at Costco tomorrow. I think I will try the Jergens cream since you like it. My skin is ... wellllll ... it's just weird right now. I do not know how to describe it except it is weird looking and it looks old. God Bless, Jen

I have been taking long baths! I have been buying all sorts of new stuff to put in my bubble baths! I also have had my hair highlighted with some red highlights. Just something subtle. I did that 2 weeks ago. I also started using Jergens Natural glow. It's a daily moisturizer and brings out a summer glow. I love it!! I'm glad you are taking the time to spoil yourself too Tiffany! Tonight I went out to the movies with my DH we went and saw Failure to Launch. I thought I was going by myself though to see it. I was dropping my boys off at the skating rink and he got back from his job (he went out of town). So he went with me. It was so funny! It's a love story and it has some really funny parts in it. Anyway, I've noticed I get out alot more than what I did before too. So I guess I spoil myself that way too! Hugs, Julie

I've been doing little things to pamper myself, too. I went to the mall for the first time in a long time last week and bought new bras and panties and then, just to splurge I got a new pair of 14K earrings. That is something I hardly ever do! I am lotioning my body more, too. I discovered Olay Quench and I swear, I have some serious dry skin issues, even from before surgery, and this is the first lotion to ACTUALLY make a difference that lasts long after the lotion washes off. Go check it out! I am planning to get a mani-pedi this week coming up and I have been going more regularly for my bikini/eyebrow waxing. My legs are even getting some attention as I am actually shaving every week or so! I think I'll go back to getting massages more regularly, too. I need them! Emily 347/298/160

Hey Tiff~ I actually starting using firming lotion about 2 weeks before surgery. I wanted to get a jump start. I use St. Ives. It smells great and it's pretty cheap too. In addition to that I use Dove firming body wash. I spoke to a personal trainer at the gym the other day and she said that doing light weight on the machines help to tighten the skin too. Needless to say, I started doing that immediately!! I'm hoping with 3 firming techniques on my side I'll shrink up nice. As far as the pampering, I just got my nails filled today. I got them done 2 weeks ago. I've also starting getting my eyebrows waxed every two weeks. I put highlights in my hair. I plan on getting a perm as soon as we can spare $100 on it. I also plan on getting a tanning membership the first week of May. I hate to admit it, but I think that I am going to be one of those "high maintenance" women by this time next year!! Dawn

i havent really started anything new since WLS- but i have always been a self indulger (i am a makeup-holic. really, its a bad addiction!) anyway, tiff, i wanted to ask about the firming cremes you have been using: how do they work? do they smell funny? and are they greasy at all? i am quite picky about lotions. most make me feel icky... but i have already noticed a skin issue, so i am curious??? p.s. what color are your pretty new tips and toes?

Hi - the firming creams are just like lotion. They have extra stuff to help revitalize the skin and balance cellulite. The cosmetic counters also have their versions if there's a particular company whose products you like. My nails are Duri 421, blissful burgandy.
