Thanks Stephanie! I am sticking to as much protein as possible. I find that it is impossible to even think about binging on protein or even overeating it. I can only sort of binge on oatmeal, grits, crackers and sweetened coffee drinks. So I think I will be okay if I just STAY AWAY from them--although I think about them daily. Gee Whiz. I am working out like a mad woman and seeing phenomanal results from that in every area except the scale numbers. My posture is better. I flat out feel better. I am more limber and flexible. I am stronger. I look better. And I sleep even better. So the challenge I have is to keep it up so I can get to goal and stay there. As of today, I am 36 pounds away. Katy

I started mapping mine again cuz I was struggling last week- I was AMAZED that mine was at 2400 and 2200 on 2 different days. There is no way I can get by on 1200 anymore- especially if I'm exercising. Currently I'm aiming for 1800-2000 for maintenance- we'll see and then I'll adjust. Holly

CONGRATS Janie!!! I am sooo jealous- you don't even look like you need one- are you gonna do before and after pics? I had a rough week and by the grace of God am at 129. WOW- I've got some bad habits that I very easily revert to. I'm up 3 pounds from my lowest- but still within my 5 pound window- although was out of it most of the week. I got most of the bad carbs out of the house so I binged on superhuge quantities of nuts and cinnamin sugar toast. Although I did hit the kids Valentine's day candy a few times- just the fact that we still have Valentine's Day candy sitting around is a miracle in and of itself. I know I'm supposed to eat in moderation and not have anything off limits- but wow- those carbs are addicting. If I start off the day with carbs- I'm almost doomed- I know it's gonna be a rough day... so I try and do protein instead. Here's to a good week this week!!! Holly

Hey Steph - Yeah I know I go over 1200 most days, I'd say more like 1500 or 1600 calories, maybe more because I do like the occasional peice of chocolate! Like you, I limit my carbs and skip the rice, pasta and breads. Sometimes when I make fajitas I'll have one of the wheat tortillas and then eat a lot of meat and veggies (well no more than a cup) I think you're good at 1500 calories. Remember how many calories we probably had before surgery? I know I was probably at 3000 or more. YIKES!!! Oh, have anyone tried the pringle wheat sticks? I bought some for my daughter for lunches and they are real good. I got the pizza flavor and they have about 10 sticks per package and are just 90 calories and 11 grams of carbs. They are good when you're craving that crunch.

Mmm...grits! Yummy! Do you like them with cheese, butter, or sweet like my husband does with butter and brown sugar? I wouldn't worry about having a measured portion a couple of times a week...just make sure that you have some meat or egg with it, and it should all balance out fine. I have been craving waffles...but every time I take a bite, they disappoint. They just don't taste the same since surgery. Oh well...they aren't worth missing I guess.

Cool....I am still trying to loose but I feel like I am starving starving starving between meals if I only get in 1200 a day. For the most part I still eat pretty good, eating mostly proteins and veggies for my carbs, I still shy away from breads, rice, pasta and potaoes unless its a special treat and then it has to be whole wheat and such. But boy am I craving some nice carby grits for breakfast. It hink I will have them one day soon because they have been on my mind a lot. Thanks for letting me know I am not too abnormal. lol

I think that is a very healthy and realistic approach Suz! I would not want to get in the habit of eating more to keep a heavier weight. Your body knows what works for you and it will level off at a healthy place. Keep practicing good eating habits and things will work out the way they should. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Good Monday Morning, My January Lovelies! This will be short and sweet today...too much to do this morning before I have to make the rounds to pick all of the kids up from school. Surgery/high: 251.5 Last Monday: 145 Today: 142.7 Loss/gain: -2.3 Okay...couldn't hold on to that 2.3 pounds to save my life. My system is determined to hover at 142 or lower. I'll give it another go this week...if it gets too be too tempting to eat crap just to stay at 145, I guess I may have to consider just staying too bony for a while and hope for some bounce back weight over the next year or so. Have a fantastic day ladies! ~Suz
