I am 6-weeks out today. I was in the shower getting ready for work when I started to feel light headed, weak, shakie, and my heart started to pound hard and, fast, I felt like I was about to pass out. I have been getting in all of my H2O in fact I had 68oz yesterday. And the shower water was not very hot. 30-min later I am still weak. This has never happened before. Has anyone else had this problem? Leslie

Could it have been a panic attack? I have never had one but I know people who have. The describe symptoms similar to those. I would let you Dr know next time you see him or if it gets worse or happens again let him know right away. Take care. LaDonna -58lbs

Thanks LaDonna, I don't think it was a panic attack. I used to get them alot when I was in my 20's, and this feels different. I have sent and e-mail into my Dr's office to see if he might know what caused it. Leslie

Leslie, That exact thing happened to me about a month ago when I first went back to work. I had to get out of the shower fast and sit on my bed because I thought I was going to pass out. After a while I felt better, but when I was blow drying my hair it happened again. I kept having to sit down and wait it out. It happened to me the next day too. My doctor said it could be from not enough water, but more likely it was just from the activity of hustling around getting ready for work. Even though it has been 6 weeks, you're still not at 100% yet. You have to take it easy and just "baby" yourself. By the end of my first week back I was okay and it hasn't happened again. If this is one of your first days back at work, I'll bet you just need to slow down and take it easy, but you might want to let your doctor know what's happening too. Melissa

I still get a bit dizzy sometimes. I was real bad earlier on in the surgery with taking a shower. I would definitely check with the doctor if it keeps happening. I know I was low in my water but it seems you have that covered. Just keep an eye on it. Your body is going through such a change. Best Wishes! Elizabeth M

From wks 2-4 I would also get lightheaded when I would bend over to pick up toys off the floor and told my dr about it. He said its common, and there was a medical term for, but the life of me, I can't remember the name...very long. He said it had to do with losing weight quickly. Or maybe it has to do with blood sugars going low from not eating enough food. Sorry I couldn't help, but definitely ask your dr....hope it goes away for you! Wendy

I think it's called near syncope (from what was just discussed here). I would suggest you talk to your doctor about it if you haven't already. Could be normal, but it could also indicate an electrolyte imbalance, or like I just found out, a B1 deficiency, amongst many other possibilities. Better to be safe than sorry. Oh - and I think 68 ounces of water sounds pretty reasonable. I can't say for sure, but it would seem to me that would not be the reason for the faintness. Dina
