Yes I get them. I always have had a issue with them right from when I was a teenager so there just might be something about that thyroid thing!
I would call whatever doctor your comfortable with and make an appointment for a visit.
If it was me I'd go to the naturalist first. I LOVE mine! she is all the way out in windham but there is another who is very good from what I hear in Mystic. I'm sure there are others near us Reenie if your inclined to try something different.
Sometimes when I get them I feel my legs are brused on the inside cause they will hurt throughout the day long after the cramp is gone.
the worst i've gotten are the ones who start up at my buttocks skip the upper thigh then go right into the calf and down through the toes. my toes have curled up! I HATE those! If I'm in bed its hard to get out of bed with those then i hobble around on a cold floor. I have wood floors in my bedroom that helps alittle bit too.
i dont' always get them at night sometimes i get them during the daytime. those are usually because of my back issues. its a pain when i'm in a meeting and they hit. i know which chairs to avoide for the back caused leg cramps!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REENIE!!!!! i hope you had a wonderful day.
when you talked about how your horse welcomes you home with a whinney it made me smile. Our animal familes love us no matter what. they think the world of us and when we get a greeting like that its genuine without anything in their minds but O mommnies home! maybe a when do we eat thing too but hey even our animals are ruled by their tummys.
the other night I was sitting on the floor playing tug of war with my tiny dog who thinks she a german sherperd the cats were watching us with that look on their faces that only cats and do paulie was laughing and making farting noises along with whispering i love you's. i was laughing so hard! then i stopped looked around and said to them all I love our litte family!
And Im going to remind myself of that when the dog forgets to let me know she needs to go outside, when the cats leave me a hair ball and when the birds get seeds and feathers (lets not forget the other animal fur) all over the house.

Ok, so the leg crams yesterday were the worst they've been; this is getting much worse for me. I couldn't stand up to walk off the cramp because the muscle had seized so badly in my upper left thigh. Research says that this can be any number of conditions including (Pam, Connie) Hypothyroide Disease. But other things as well. Is anyone other than me and Marilyn suffering from leg cramps? Any other issues that you didn't have prior to your surgery? I'm gonna get my blood workup done and try to see what's going on. But I wanted to start this thread to sort of do a medical check in on each other. Good day, everyone - take care. Maureen

The worst is over and I am ok ...everything is taken care of for the moment and tomorrow Im not doing a thing but taking care of Bill and the kids...thats it. Going to mow the lawn, clean up the house some ( boy does it need it)...and just do nothing. Ill start agan Monday. Ive decided to wait and hold a service at a later date...I dont want Rachael to always remember her graduaton and the service of her dad at the same time so Im putting it off till a later date, I think thats best for now. I cant do that to her..not now. And Im comfortable with that decision...I hope its the right one. But I want you all to know I am ok and I think maybe the worst is over. I have a lawyer who I feel good about and she is handling the property and such so I feel as if a ton has been lifted off my shoulders for the moment. So now Im just concentrating on keeping everyone here well.

I would of been scared to death...one night since Bill's been laid up I heard a bad noise in the house and sheesh I know the fear...it was nothing, but scared me to death...but I never thought of that car key idea...thats a very good one...I may just start doing that myself...after that one night I put a big old butcher knife in my night stand beside my bed...crazy I know but it makes me feel better knowing I might have a chance if it comes to that...either that or jump from my window but that wouldnt be such a good idea...its too high LOL....and that bird he sounds like a kook, I bet he keeps you laughing non stop. Can I borrow him?

Yep, 53 years old today. Taking the day off to be with my horse, Laela. I moved her home from a nightmarish boarding situation about 3 weeks ago and her entire personality has changed. She is so content munching on her heavenly fields of grass. And when my car pulls up into the driveway, she whinnies her welcome to let me know I am the most loved human on the planet (at least by a horse). So I woke up thinking wouldn't it be lovely if Kim could come over today and we could play with Laela together - or I could "rent" a pasture pony so we could trail ride together. And we would marvel at the miracle of being able (still) to hoist ourselves up into the saddle and onto our horse's backs without killing them. Kim, you told me you used to ride, right? And we'd have a nice healthy ceasar salad for lunch and talk about life and how different it all is now from 6 years ago. Six years!!! So Happy Birthday to me! And, Karen, I know you above all else will appreciate this: I am on my 5th day without M&M's!! It's a miracle. Really! And I'm 158 this a.m., down from 165. Remember how easy it used to be to lose 10 lbs. when we were morbidly obese??? Now, I'm scratching and clawing for every nano-pound - but feeling better every day. Love you guys. Have a super day. hangs upside down from the top of his cage wings spread wide flapping while he swings himself in a circle yelling "CRAZY BIRD CRAZY BIRD CRAZY BIRD"
how can anyone get depressed with that silly bird in the living room?
Cats on the other hand are trying to give me a heart attack.
i woke up the other night with my heart pounding. i can sleep through anything and have but i woke up hearing what sounded like a person tiptoeing up my stairs going into my sitting room across from my bedroom and opening the drawers to my desk shuffling papers too.
i tell you i was so scared! i tried to dial 911 on my cell phone but everytime i hit a button it would make a loud beep.
i kept thinking that the next thing they'd do was try to open my bedroom door which was locked.
i hid under the covers and tried to dial but the stupid thing kept beeping. so after about an hour of listening to this noise i fell alseep. HOW COULD I FALL ASLEEP!!!
it was my two cats. those rotten animals had papers all over the sitting room. i could have killed them if i coud have found them. i knew it was the cats cause the idiots left a hair ball on top of the morgage invoice!
i told my sister and we had a good laugh over it later on she had something similar happen. she said she heard that you should keep your car keys by your bed. most cars now have the help button to press that will set off alarms.
she said that when the alarms go off it wakes your neighbors who come runnign when it doesn't go off plus it scares the robbers and makes them go away. so now i sleep with the car keys necxt to me and i turn the sound off my cell phone!
hey everyone has to have a plan right?
