I'm so sorry to hear about Connie's back.  I'm around and have to say I have even had time to lurk.  I posted a quick update.  Thanks for thinking of me and I'll pray for Connie.

Wow guys, I got a message about my five year anniversary and I couldn't believe it.  I really have to wonder if I was still 500 hundred pounds if I would still be here.

Anyway, life if pretty damn good.  The surgery last year for the sports hernia and the fistula kicked my ass to be honest.  My workout had not been what they should have been nearing that point and then I got off track after.  I have put on 50 pounds since my low, but I'm on my way back down again.  My wife and I are running together and we have set a goal of running the PF Chang's Rock and Roll half marathon in Jan. of  2010.

I'm having shoulder surgery on 4/7/09 but if all goes as planned, it will be short and sweet.  I plannning on doing a 5K on 4/26 and I will once again be involved in the Law Enforcement Torch Run on 5/6 where I hope to ride at least 50 miles on my bike.

My girls are getting big, and I thought of how my life has changed when on Sunday night, we went to the gym and practiced volleyball with the girls.  That would not have occured five years ago, and that alone was enought of a reminder on why I did what I did.

Sorry for being MIA.  Life with three busy girls, a busy wife and a busy me keep us all going.  I hope you all are doing well and wish you the best.

Topic: To All My Marchers!!!!!

HI THERE!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO EVERYONE!  I've been MIA for just a little bit. No real reason really, just havent stopped in long enough to post. I haven't read all the posts just a few. I was happy to see some old friends posting.   It was so nice to hear from them. I've been trying to really watch what I eat , drink my protein drinks for breakfast and lunch and have a very healthy dinner. Going to pick up some fish today for dinner.... same ol' same ol' for me.

CONNIE!!! We love you and please stop in for support. We want to support you through this hard time you are going through. Sending tons of prayers your way. I was watching the 700 club a couple of weeks ago. I NEVER watch that show. Just never really grabbed my attention. But I decided to watch it for some reason and it touched me. They had that healing world wide miracle prayer thing where he prays and you pray with him and he starts talking about people having problems and that Jesus is going to heal them etc... afterwards, they talked about people who wrote into the show advising them that they had been healed.. and we're talking dabilitating diseases and chronic pain type things. They did a few interviews and it was really amazing. I'm not big on tv evangalists, quite the opposite really. I guess the 700 club is a bit different though, at any rate, could give it a shot, check it out one night?? Whether we believe or not. Maybe I was sent to relay a message. You never know! I know... it's way out there on a limb. But when you're down, there really is someone there to carry you after all even though there are really only one set of footprints. And just in case you are not religious or have very different beliefs...us Marchers will try to carry you as best we can because we love ya! (((HUGS!!!)))

Hi Connie...your welcome....( nuerostimulator) thats it, thats what he has....I will ask him more about it, I dont know awhole lot about it but I do know he is getting some relief from having it installed into him.  As for how all his back problems happened...he did have an accident, he used to be very big into lifting weights and messed it up then, as a result its been nothing but down hill from there...he also had a hidden birth defect that didnt show up till later , so between the two things he is just messed up. He has even lost his leg cause of his back problem causing his leg to totally give out just at the wrong time when he was hunting onside of a ravine....fell off it and got all busted up, but it all goes back to the back problems. Anyway things are looking up for him, I will talk to him and find out what I can then i'll let you know. Try and take care of yourself and hope you have a decent day!!!

As most of you know I have a African Grey Parrot along with my other animals.

Recently I'd read about someone who had taught their parrot their name and address. The bird got lose and when he was found by police he wouldn't talk but when taken to a vet he told the vet his name and address and then was reunited with his owner! so I got it in my head that Paulie can learn his too!
Paulie loves to talk when I'm upstairs getting ready for work. we will say things up and down the stairs to each other. Its what they do in the wild with the rest of their flock. so he will make a whistle and i'll make it back. I'll say good morning down the stairs and he'll repeat it. Its a neat little morning game.

I had been singing the koo-a-barra song he got parts of it. H'ed sing koo-a-bird or koo-a-paulie to the tune but the best was when he was first trying the words out and would mispronounce them into koo-a-turd! it took a while for him to get his birdy tounge to work right!

Our last name is Cooper

This week he would repeat Paulie kookoo Paulie kookoo bird finally he got it! Now he won' tshut up! hahaha Thats all he says right now he's so proud of himself!

My little dog charlie has to take meds for her lungs daily. she does well and can live for a long time (please) with the meds. After she takes her pills I pet her and tell her what a good dog she is. I hear Paulie tellimg her that too!

I wonder what it is like in here when I leave for work. does that poor dog have to listen to her birdy brother saying Paulie Cooper over and over or does Paulie tell her charlies a good girl Good girl charlie or maybe paulie keeps asking the poor dog Charlie gotta go outside? Charlie gonna go bye bye? hahaha

Thanks for thinking of me and making the suggestion.  I'm really glad to know that someone has been through this and doing better.  If your brother has the same thing I'm thinking of (neurostimulator), I'm glad he's getting some relief with it.  The pain doc showed it to me and said that it might be one of the things we try.  I'm a little hesitant about this, but will go for it if it helps.  I really sympathize with your bro and hope he gets some lasting relief.  Did your brother have an accident that damage his back?

Can you do a favor for me and ask your brother if he feels a constant vibration or hum and if it bothers him?
