Wow - yes, I think I remember you posting about this when you were pregnant with your daughter; what are nsaids? And the tube down your throat... I hadn't thought about that! What if we are brought to the hospital unconscious and can't talk, can't communicate abou the WLS? What if we have to be intubated? I just think there needs to be a national directive on informing doctors in an immediate way about treatment of WLS patients when they otherwise have absolutely no experience or point of reference on what to do. The sublingual they gave me (for naseua) was Reglan - anyone know anything about it? I just don't know if I damaged my pouch, I can't tell how bad the pain was, waves and waves of it for almost three hours. I very nearly passed out. As for the complement, what I'm most happy with is that he said, "You look like you're doing very well!" Not, "It looks like the surgery worked!"  What he said sounded more like he appreciated the hard work it takes to keep the weight off - we really need those reminders of where we've come from, guys! Hugs, Maureen

I know, I'm so excited for her too! :)

OK... I am seriously cracking down on things. Had a very bad weekend and need to get back into the groove so I can get this weight off and feel better about myself. K... I did well yesterday... had an egg and protein and tea and something else that I can't recall at the moment but it was a good choice. I didn't eat much yesterday I just wasn't hungry at all.

Today:

Breakfast
2 small low fat turkey patties & decaf coffe w/milk and splenda

Lunch
Turkey Chilli. That was pretty darned good but it smelled funny!! haha...

No snack well... maybe a couple of crackers but thats it.

Dinner:  Protein shake and a healthy snack of some sort. I have to make spaghetti and meatballs tonight for everyone but I am REFUSING to eat it. I will NOT DO PASTA! That has to be my mantra. If I eat that stuff not only will it make me feel lousy, but it will make me want to snack later and just make me dissapointed in myself. So none of that. I'll just make the dinner then serve it up and make my protein shake right away.

hmmm.... feeling a litle dizzy. I think its my left eye though, it seems my vision is a bit blurrier than normal in my left eye. i hope thats all it is. Just too my vitamin and iron pill.......

Oh Reenie please be careful! Hang in there... I had them and had a very bad experience. I was in the ER for over 8 hours bleeding thinking I was having a miscarriage the pain was sooo bad. Here my body was going into toxic shock and they had me hooked up to antibiotic iv for 3 days before they had to surgically go in and remove them because they were stuck and infected. Nasty stuff. The doc was a real jerk about wls. He was complaining and lecturing me about how wls patients get them because of the surgery. You could DEFINITELY tell he was against wls. I was like surgery or not, I don't appreciate being stuck in the ER for over 8 hours and constantly ignored despite me tripled over in ungodly pain until I' m bleeding and go into toxic shock!!!!!  He sorta changed his tone after that.

I always stress to anyone that even touches me in the hospital about not giving me nsaids or a tube in my throat etc.... I can be annoying about it but hey...better safe than sorry. luckily for me my hospital is very educated about wls since they have performed hundres there.

Way to go on the compliment! Very cool! :)

Oh wow! You are doing great Judy! Hang in there :)  Almonds... I have to make sure I pick up some almonds. They always help curb my appetite. They have that little bit of sweetness to them.  Way to go!!!

KUB is what they call the particular X-ray they do .. I think it's for Kidney, Urinary, Bladder
Since the stones were  diagnosed I've not passed any without lithotripsy and then they are like grains of sand.    I've got a collection of sturdy plastic strainers!

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Oh yikes! What's KUB? Mo, have you ever known when you've passed a stone - do you know when it happens? I keep peeing in this flimsy cardboard strainer but nothing! I'm going to start crushing my calcium pill and just adding it to my shake. Thanks for this!! Maureen
