I had this long response written and the stupid thing knocked me out of the page. I agree with you whole heartedly in regards to the surgeon fixing things. I always thought that, if something mechanically is wrong after surgery... strtetching...stoma enlargement, failed suture lines etc... I think the surgeon should fix it too and it be covered!!! (not in america thats for sure) maybe in another country. 'sigh' I also think that plastic surgery should be included to take care of the pani and other issues. I know there are ways to get insurance to cover, but its next to impossible to accomplish unless you have severe underlying issues involved with excess skin and a bmi of 35 and over with underlying issues in order to get a revision. I know I can consume alot and know that I have an enlarged stoma because I got sick once eating something...i went to throw up and NOTHING was there. I mean this was almost like 3 minutes after I ate. It just went right on through!!! No word was ever mentioned that this was a possibliity when I was researching with my wls about surgery. I also knew that i would have to make a lifestyle change and had at least 1-2 years to prepare and adjust to the new way of eating. My surgeon agreed with me. I had about 6-7 months ONLY to prepare. Because after 6 months I could eat alot more and tolerate sugar etc... I had a feeling that something was wrong then. i struggled hard to get the rest of my 100 off. Now its even worse. My metabolism is screwed up due to the rapid weight loss and also... which others must keep in mind ... the vitamin deficiency has a lot to do with our poor metabolisms. I recently talked to my doc about all this. She is helping me alot with the insane hunger and getting on an exercise program and in 6 months we will see where I am and then weigh my options...meds... and if the exercise hasn't done much for my metabolism. And to check my levels again for deficiency. Its good when the docs are so understanding. The levels of course being the most important... I mean how weak and tired are we being anemic and B-12 deficient. Thats why metabolically its soooo hard to loose weight! Our bodies are so starved for nutrients that it soaks up every calorie our bodies actually allow.   even though due to our surgery its supposed to not soak up as much (calories and fat and such) yeah ok... lol....  ok im off my soap box too! lol!!

OK gotta get me some more PB. I like the natural crunchy kind. The no sugar kind. "Natural Smuckers" ooo I love that stuff! :)

as for the thirst... maybe try lowering your salt intake?? Could that be what it is per chance? Sometimes not even a lot of salt will make me soooo thirsty. (i doubt thats it for you though, its been going on too long).

I found a few things online ... I'll have to post them for you..
Diabetes
Hyperthyroidism
Weight Loss
Drug Ingestion (over the counter and presription)
Your doctor should have done CBC Metabolic testing and urin analysis testing etc... because the excessive terrible thirst is a symptom of something! Grrr... doctors make me growly sometimes! I would push the issue, I know you've been having this terrible thirst for some time now! How is your sugar? Sounds like your levels were good though... I think you should push for that  urnin analysis testing... i will get you the exact tests to check for excessive thirst... they had them listed... I love doing that to my docs... but mine is usually very open to new things and suggestions when it comes to my wls because she has so many patients that have had wls and has seen some crazy and interesting sypmptoms as a result of the surgery. She monitoring me now for the insane hunger! She's really helped me with that. Monitoring my food and what I eat... she's kicking my butt to get me intot he gym... have to start that monday then follow up... a good doc really is helpful.

yeah you'll most likely see the inches dissappear before the weight. Remember you are gaining muscle weight and that is heavier than fat! So don't get discouraged... it will start comming off. That always upsets me when I start working out and they always remind me of that. OH! I haven't seen the zoo thing!!! (do I want to??) haha... I was on Farmville, Castle Age...Castle Age is my favorite. I'm sure I make many enemies there. I battled 1,000,000 dollars from someone yesterday. I'm sure they were sooooooo mad when they checked their treasury! tee hee! Its not as exciting as farmville and such because there is not real interactive characters. Just getting the money and buying the castles. It would be cool if they did make it with interactive characters. And I was on Youville and left you a note. lol... Everyone wanted a gift yesterday. I had to give wallpaper. I'm sure that sucked when they opened it. hahaha... ah well.. bejeweled... you have to send me an invite to that becuase I can't seem to find it on FB strangely enough!  I've played bejeweled before and its very very addictive, but haven't played it on FB. well you have fun at the gym!!! And just remember... "Eye candy is just dandy!"   lol... I'm such a nerd....

i can't drink 8 oz in a few minutes. if i do i sticks and it feels like i'm going to drowned. so i still sip. if i am really thirsty i can drink about 3 oz estimate quickly but i feel it for sure!
peanut butter is my friend! i have some with me alot. theres a jar in my desk at work and one in my car. sometimes with my LBS if i feel the need I just take a small amount on a spoon and slowly enjoy it. works very well. my doctors both the edo and the natural say to use it. the natural of course says dont' buy grocery store to go to health foods and get "real" pb but choosey mom's choose jiff....

I had a visit with my WLS yesterday as well.  I was concerned about a LBS problem and the fact I drink at least a gallon and a half of fluid a day and seem to ALWAYS be thirsty. He stated that he didn't believe it was dehydration but had to be some other issue...no answer just a statement.

My LBS - he said to start having a little something to eat - peanut butter and crackers was his suggestion prior to drinking my protein.  Also to add more peanut butter to my snacks in between meals.  Since I live on Peanut butter and soy butter this is not a problem to add in a few additional tablespoons full if it will help with the LBS.

He had me redo my nutrition labs and I got a call back today that everything was normal to high normal and to keep up the good work.  No bad news but I still have questions.......

Oh yeah...I can guzzle 20 ounces at one time absolutely no problem and no discomfort - to qualify that statement.... only as long as it's been at least an hour since I last ate.  Food and drinking still do not mix at all.

School is going full force!! We are all having to take furlough days in the kitchen with no substitutes to work in our place and it is all we can do to get everything done when we're all there. Monday and Tuesday my cashier was out and I had to do her job. Tomorrow one of the ladies in the kitchen is taking a day.
We have been having one lady on the serving line and she put the protein and bread on the tray and the kids picked up the food they wanted. Now because of the H1N1 flu we are having to put everything on the tray so two people have to serve. And I'm the one that does it everyday, except when I am doing the cashier's job.  I have not worked on the serving line in 14 years!  It is real hard for me to get time to do my job!!  Today when the girl cooking got her job done, she came out on the serving line and told me she was caught up and for me to go to my office and do my work.  I feel so stressed out most of the time, but tomorrow is FRIDAY and I'm going to make it!
Have a good weekend and keep up the good work I'm proud of you , I wish I just weighed 180!

God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. Today is very imporant, because I'm exchaning a day of my life for it.
